"The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it."

<span class="bold">SimplePlanes</span>, the easy-to-use building/flying playground for aspiring aviators, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and a 25% launch discount.

Remember when the best use for our school books was as building materials for paper planes? Most of us have outgrown school by now but not the desire to craft our own airworthy creations, our marvellous SimplePlanes. And now we can, just by easily snapping parts together in order to give shape to the aircraft of our dreams. Retro or futuristic, massive or aerodynamic, fast or durable - as long as you can dream it, you can build it. Then take to the skies to test it, just flying around the sandbox or completing special challenges. If you are not feeling especially creative, you can always download other people's designs and see how they managed to combine efficiency with style. You are not limited to aircrafts either - other vehicles have the right to touch the sky too, you know!

Craft your <span class="bold">SimplePlanes</span> piece by piece, then put them up against the merciless laws of physics and aerodynamics, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% discount ends June 1, 12:59 PM UTC.
This is from the same guys that made SimpleRockets? Awesome, definitely wishlisted!

eiii: The model graphics seem to be very basic for a game from 2015. It still requires 512 MB of VRAM and even recommends 1 GB?
Probably a Unity game. That would explain that.
This seems to be a mobile game ported to PC

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jundroo.SimplePlanes

Note the price difference (in Denmark 41 kr for android but 84 kr for PC here on GOG)
Looking at the google store I like what I see - looks like a nice game and there is no nasty in-app crap sale.
So the port can be good.

IronArcturus: Now this game looks cool! Is there a multiplayer mode?
Officially no. It isn't mentioned in the gamecard by the way. Unofficially yes, there is some mod being developed but don't hold your breath about it since it is still in early alpha. You're buying it for the SP mode as it is now.

By the way, if you're interested in MP dogfights there are other titles that do it better.

after reading a review I think I will stick with Kerbal for now. But which-listed and waiting for a 75% off sale.

I don't know the game, but i was wondering if you need Steam for all the 100k+ models. And it seems like you can get them directly from the website: http://www.simpleplanes.com/Airplanes/Hot?p=1
The vehicle editor could be fun for a while, but I'm not sure there's much point to it, when there's nothing to do with your creations. Are there any real goals, other than flying ( or driving ) in circles until you grow bored of it? The game world looks fairly empty. ( Also, the trailer music and voice acting seems slightly annoying, but I digress... )

We seriously need Heroes of the Pacific here. I love that game. It's just good dog fighting fun. Well and you get to dive bomb the occasional battleship! :D

Yeah, I really wish GOG could get more flying games! Remember Combat Flight Simulator?

I needed you can download from steams workshop using a script.

on Firefox install greasemonkey add-on.
It Allows you to customize the way a web page displays or behaves, by using small bits of JavaScript.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/

next install a script on top of greasemonkey = Enhanced Steam Workshop Downloader
It adds an extra button to download a mod while browsing steams Workshop.

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/5729-enhanced-steam-workshop-downloader

I have downloaded mods for Don't starve that way.
Mostly because I am to lacy to register at klei's homepage an thus can't download mods from there.
I do not want to remembering more new user / password combo and all that fuss, than I absolutely have to.

There are races, combat stuff, and challenges to play through, as well as the sandbox. In the sandbox, there are three modes: "Build and Fly" (basically the normal sandbox), "Dogfight", and "Race Against Opponents". The latter two modes are against AI, since there's no multiplayer. In the Build and Fly sandbox, you can spawn AI planes (though when I've tried it I have no idea where they spawn, and have never seen them) and start from various locations. There's a selection of default locations, but you can also discover new locations, which could be a good exploration goal. You can also start at custom-set locations.

I hope that helps!

I'd love to see Evasive Action on GOG, a dogfighting sim with planes from four world wars by the developers of the I-War games.
