Arthandas: For all I know this is the same broken port with 30/15 fps lock and missing hauntings. Would be best if the staff or someone who bought this could confirm or deny it.
avatar
Croyzers: I'm playing it just now - locked at 30fps.

I have the disc version too - I think the GOG version is essentialy identical to it. I don't know anyhing about the haunting though, sorry :(

On the positives, I'm playing at 2560x1440 with no issue.
They're not identical if you're playing in 2560x1440:) What about the cutscenes? They were previously locked to 15 fps.
As for the hauntings, I'm talking about these:

Elmofongo: As I was installing this my Avira Virus Scanner detected and quarantine a suspicious file

TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen

Did anyone else caught this?
That's almost certainly a false positive. It will probably be gone in a signature update or two of your scanner. If you want to be safe, there are several sites on the web where you can upload a file and they test it against a wide variety of scanners. Since this is a threat from 2016, unless a large majority of them identify it, it should be completely safe.

OK I tried to restore the quarantined file, but Avira re-quarantined it immediately. Am I gonna have to disable Avira completely to play this game?

Apologies, yes you are right - it must have a widescreen patch applied to it! I've just tested the original cd and that only used 4:3 aspect ratio. There is a tool called dxcfg installed too - which seems to be a wrapper for old direct x. You can pick screen modes, anti aliasing etc. I was even able to pick a supersampled screenmode

Not sure about the cutscenes - but they do seem to be 30fps (but that could be placebo)

Supposed to be working just now (!!) but will check out the haunting

Wishlisted. Now waiting Silent Hill 2 and 3, Shadow of Memories. And perhaps some modern games too.

Suggestions to rescue:

-Resident Evil from 1 to 3 from Capcom.
-Sega Saturn games that was ported to PC (Sega Rally, virtua cop, Last Bronx, Virtua Figther 2 and Remix, etc, etc, etc).

Keep working with classics PC games, please.

Great that Konami released this game on GOG! Bought it instantly, now release the rest of them too please.

Sad that Silent Hill 4 soundtrack isn't included in the extras ...in fact there are no extras at all with this game, not even a PDF of the game manual :(

I would definitely buy Silent Hill soundtracks if GOG would be selling them.
Konami start selling Silent Hill 4 on PC on Steam and GOG sounds nice and all, but my guess is that they did this because their main bread and butter, the pachinko machines are floundering hard because no one want to use them during covid19 outbreak.

I hope this is also the time that Konami return to their gaming root. You guys already hurting Kojima and his employees like an angry child throwing temper tantrum. This is time to make amend.
Ehh, I'll pick it up when it's on sale and the other two games are here. Still waiting on Metal Gear 2 though, figured that'd be a top priority what with the current crop of Metal Gear games outselling basically everything here this past week.

pbaggers: This is nice, but what about Silent Hill 2 and 3?

Please tell me issues with the voice actor's contracts aren't getting in the way...
Lets be real. The voice acting has always been terrible in these games. You could have subtitles only and it'd be an improvement lol. SH4 is a pretty good game. I think I'll pick this up.
