Things are getting a little hairy now.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, 10% off until May 15th, 12pm UTC.
Someone in Sequin Land is up to no good and Shantae just won't have it! Instead, she will hair-flick and belly-dance her way through all sorts of loopy levels, changing shapes as she goes. But will her fabulous mane and hypnotic moves be enough to defeat the sassy Risky Boots?

The Ultimate Edition includes the Pirate Queen's Quest, Friends to the End, and Costume Pack DLC.
I can confirm now: the game is missing the 64 bit executable file ("ShantaeHero64.exe") and all other 64 bit dll files in the "executable" folder. Meaning that we can't play the game in DirectX 11 mode. Please, game devs and GOG, be aware of this and fix it, releasing the missing files.

Weren't you shouting Oblivion before? Now you are preparing for Skyrim GOG release?

fortune_p_dawg: yeah im internally gearing up for a skyrim release however maintaining that level of enthusiasm again is nigh impossible. lol.
Don' t get you hopes up on this one. Bethesda has released it's Skyrim Special Edition which has a 64-bit executable, which is a *huge* plus, since this game can get pretty memory intensive, especially when using mods. (Original Skyrim was limited to 4GB of Mem before it crashes... )
The SE edition is much less prone to CTD (Although it does occasionally freeze my computer, probably because of an overheating GPU)

About those mods: Bethesda wants you to join their so-called " Creators' s Club" , so you can shell out even more cash on mods which are lower-quality or comparable in quality to the freely available NexusMods mods in terms of content.
On the plus side: official Bethesda mods might play nicer with each other than some NexusMods mods.
Some Nexus mods are not compatible with each other.

On Shantae: 1/2 Geany Hero: It looks like an expertly crafted platformer with lots of charm and nothing short of gorgeous graphics. Wishlisted for now.

Shantae's Mighty Butt Force costume.

dtgreene: Is there an insta-fail stealth section in this game?
I think there's an achievement or something where you're required to kill all enemies in a certain section without any of them seeing you, which requires staying out of their line of sight until you can get the drop on them. But I don't think it's mandatory.
Comparing folders with someone that has the Steam version, it's also missing the "_wfshadersdx11.pak" file inside the "data" folder. The DX11 shaders, I assume by the name. So, just this file and all the missing ones in the "executable" folder. Hoping for a patch soon...
I really hope they only use the fisheye lens effect in the town, can't stand that effect...getting a headache immediately. :(
Ironic that steam had the original version that had the DLC/kick starter exclusive sold separately, yet it was the exclusive version that had the included content release here! Thanks gog for bringing the superior instead of the original lesser version here for once; plus having the complete collections 1-3 is great as well!

Wait, what? I should have read this first before I commented, I hope that there will be an update! Have you attempted to use it via the gog version?

Attempted to use those missing files with the GOG version, you mean? Yes, and they make it work fine in DX11. But I had to, *ahem*, get a "DRM-free" Steam executable and dlls to boot the game. If we don't get an update with this soon, maybe we'll have to contact GOG support so they tell Wayforward in a more direct way.

Lack of achievements in Galaxy is bad too, but not THAT important compared to the other thing, in my opinion.

Pfft, that sucks, I do hope they remedy this flaw, especially since we now know this! Thanks for confirming this, so what's the difference between the shaders?

For end users, I don't think there's any visual difference. But for me, it's a lot easier to make shader mods in DX11. Like making hotkeys to disable bloom, cutscene black bars, and other effects.

Fascinating, would love to check out your mods!
So I backed this one when it was on Kickstarter and now I got the Ultimate Edition on Steam.. For hardcore platformers fans, it will be far too easy so I recommend playing it higher difficulty from the start. it also has some poorly implemented backtrack mechanics that make you go on the same levels over and over again... there´s only one challenging puzzle room and it´s near the end.. I whish the whole game had those, this game had potential on mechanics but falls a bit short. The music and art are awesome :)
