How does this compare to Beyond Shadowgate?

Also, how come Shodowgate 2, Beyond Shadowgate, and the remake of the original Shadowgate are listed as having different developers?

Glad to see this here on release day as well. I might be able to answer some of the questions folks have. Zojoi created Shadowgate 2014 as a reimagining of the classic MacVenture/NES title. This game is a sequel to that particular release and has moved to 3-D exploration. However, other than being the IP holder, Zojoi has left all production and development to Forever Games. So, not exactly a Zojoi title, but it might surprise us.

Beyond Shadowgate was a half Zojoi and half GrafMetal Games production that was a sequel to the NES version.....and it was AMAZING!

I don't have time to play now...but I'm expecting good things.

I bought this one from Steam. I'm sad to say it has some game-breaking bugs which will halt your progress until the devs fix them.

As they have not been very talkative in Steam, I don't know if they are working in fixing the issues.

Is this the sequel they teased at the end of the first game? I’m not sure, but it doesn’t really seem like it.

That one was supposed to come out in 2016, way too long ago, so it’s quite unlikely that this is the same project. Also, the artwork and story they teased are completely different in this Shadowgate II... I’m guessing they scrapped that and started over from scratch.

This is indeed the sequel…but Zojoi didn’t make it…just licensed the IP.
