He is coming, stalking criminals in the spirit world and the real world. A classic from 1999 comes back in a new version with refreshed graphics and the same engaging gameplay. Shadow Man Remastered is now available on GOG.COM along with a 25% discount that will end on 22nd April 2021, 5 PM UTC. The game comes with a digital comic book!

fronzelneekburm: How come the original version (which happens to be less than 30% the price of this new version) is still readily available on Steam?

Gog seems rather eager to pull stuff. Kinda reminds me of a claim some Beamdog staffer once made that it was gog who pulled the original versions of Baldur's Gate and Planetescape Tournament, out of their own volition, rather than Beamdog explicitly requesting their removal.
They removed it because the original is included with the remaster, you can download as a goodie.

So what? Maybe someone's just not in the mood to pay $20 for a 22 year old game and they'd be perfectly fine with the $5 original version. Steam customers are apparently afforded that luxury. Gog customers aren't. How come?

But that's just the usual German version censorship, no? From the wording it sounded like the international version had been censored too.

I was suspecting nudity (like in Giants - Citizen Kabuto).

Well, that is all I know. Maybe some US fellow could tell you if there was additional censoring.
I won't buy it - no discount for owners of the original while removing it to make sure everybody buys this version - keep it!

Yeah, that's kinda lame. I'll probably get this version since it seems really superior, but only with a really decent discount. I don't want to neglect the work Nightdive put into this port, but the IP I also have already paid for. And twice now.

Damn, I wished for a bigger discount. I bought four versions of the game, two of them for full price. I can´t instabuy it for twelve bucks. Now I have to wait to see the new levels.

Sorry I was talking about Baldurs Gate and Planescape Torment, those games aren't available for purchase and as far as I know only aveilable as a goodie here on GOG!

Am I the only one who felt very underwhelmed with this? Sure graphic got overhauled for current resolution but this game 3D model doesn't age well. I rather play the Dreamcast version.

Wow, one of my favorite games ever is getting a remaster, I had no idea! Very thrilled about this!! Shadow Man is a masterpiece even today, I can only recommend it to everyone.

However, one request for GOG: Don't remove the original version of the game. Do the same as with "Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition" and "Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition", thus everyone who purchases the remastered version gets the original version as well. Even if the Remaster is better in every respect, it's important for preservation of game history to have the original version.
