Humanity is under siege again! The only ones that can stop the alien invasion are the misfit members of the Earth Defense Force and their leader - Sam “Serious” Stone.

That’s right, Serious Sam 4 is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM! Once again armed with a slew of devastating weapons and perfectly timed one-liners, you will fight your way through swarms of aliens commanded by the Notorious Mental.

I'll echo the desire for Serious Sam 2. Personally I'd be fine if it's even missing Steam features, I just want the basic single-player.
Does it work on Windows 7?
Windows 10 only? Forget it!

It REALLY sounds like you should hold off. I'm starting to think the only reason SS4 was released on GOG at all is because CroTeam is desperate for money.

Edit: Looks like plenty of others beat me to the punch, so I'll add my opinion on the direction of the series. SS4 looks like it draws way too much from BFE.

Disclaimer: I played through it once, it's been a decent while since then, and I played the 360 version.
I... HATE... BFE...
Mechanically it doesn't feel like a Sam game until towards the end. Enemies are trickle fed to you throughout most of it and far to often the levels themselves are cramped and claustrophobic in comparison to the First/Second Encounter.

Tonally, it doesn't feel like a Sam game at all. The humor is more the style of the Scary Movie series and it consistently falls flat. The characters are now swearing left and right, none of them are likeable, and Sam himself is... wrong... He now comes off like an overly self important jerk. Like a particularly bad satire of Duke Nukem, by someone that absolutely hates that character.

The level aesthetics are thoroughly generic and soulless. The color pallet is drab and boring. It's grey, tan, and brown with some greenery thrown in here and there. Returning enemies aren't as vibrantly colored as they were in prior games, and the new enemies match their modern military shooter aesthetic.
The general architecture is little more than ruined middle-eastern cities/towns. I honestly don't remember there being any gorgeous vistas or appealing architecture in BFE at all, much less any vibrancy or color variation.

The whole package feels like a terribly done parody of Duke Nukem's character, Call of Duty's general aesthetics for their middle-eastern campaigns, and, (ironically), Serious Sam... It's just jarring going from F/SE to BFE, and it's neck snapping whiplash going from SS2 to BFE. I know people complain about 2, but in my opinion, BFE is where Sam went Seriously wrong.

Father Grigori has been a little obese lately.

Seriously (ha!), I'd rather they dump all the other Serios Sam games here for us to play while they go about fixing this one.
I don't like that reviewer much but he raises some great points even without the bugs the game needs major work that most likely will never come.

Bring the missing other titles of the series here. If not: not interrested. Sorry GOG.

Hard pass. I don't trust Croteam based on their treatment of GOG users so far. I can't find the topic but I believed it was discussed on this forum that the Serious Sam First Encounter game that is here is out of date compared to others? If this is untrue please forgive me, but in any case I am glad I got it free when it was on giveaway here.

I don't need to like or trust Gman, I only need to see first two minutes of review to know 80% of what I need to know about this game.
Does anyone else miss the pre-order weapon skin or is it just me?

At least he's honest with this review and hasn't let nostalgia cloud his sense, also as someone else who has already reviewed the product pointed out

Any chance we'll see Serious Sam 2 and 3?
