Maybe i will get it.

Got to admit, never saw this coming. Already have it on Steam, but I guess it's double dipping time!

MarkoH01: Thank you Hikage_XjS for making me aware of this game. It is a pity that it did not receive a news post immediately, but once again the community helps :) Instabought this after watching the trailer.

Hopefully this thread will stay up for others to notice this release.
You know why they don't announce it, some self proclaimed moralists in their super tight panties will start sperging out and the forum board will have no less than 50 replies hahahahaha

MarkoH01: Because it is anime and anime for most peoiple equals 18+ for whatever reason we will never understand.

FrostburnPhoenix: Because eroges are too popular probably. We should stop encouraging this by not supporting eroges!
The Streissand effect bruh, the moment more people got mad at something, the more people gonna look at it and want it.

Also if you don't know what Streissand effect is, it's based on a papparazzi picture of Barbara Streissand's house. At first it's just a dime in a dozen celebrity ho hum house no one give a crap about. But then Barbara threw a temper tantrum and demand the photo to be taken down. Suddenly more people want to see the pic for the curiosity alone.

Never thought I'd see the day - it was pretty annoying when this one didn't make the leap to GOG. Well, better late then never. Guess I'll pick it up for a rainy day.
Yeah, just saw this today on the store, and looked for a release post, but there's no one to be found.

Disappointing that GOG seems to be "hiding" this one away for whatever reason. The 18+ warning isn't warranted here either. I just checked anyone want to tell me why Cyberpunk 2077 is 17+ but somehow Senran Kagura needs to be 18+ warning, the same warning that actual porn gets?

I genuinely wonder if something like this might prevent the other SK games from coming. It's just a bad look for GOG and pretty unprofessional to say the least. IS GOG saying we're ashamed on the game being here, or that our core audience doesn't like these games?

Whatever the reason it looks bad. XSeed previously said years ago these games were cancelled because of problems getting them to work DRM-free, so you figure some time, effort and money went into this to get it on GOG with full Galaxy integration. I can't imagine that XSeed is thrilled with no release post advertising the game, and putting it behind an 18+ warning.

By the way, I didn't notice it on the store page here, but this seems to have Cross-Play with Steam, since that version was updated and mentioned it.

I really don't even want to buy this right now because of what I feel is GOG insulting XSeed and every single fan of these games, but I will anyways, because I've asked XSeed way too many times over the past two years to bring these to GOG.

I agree with this. I recall asking for these games back when Xseed had a forum on their website. This game has been rate by the ESRB (PS Vita) to be Rate M for Mature (17+), so it shouldn't be categorise with Hentai games.
Won't lie, I bought this thinking it was the Neptunia/Kagura game that got delayed.

I have played the 3DS games of Kagura and was surprised by the writing as most of the characters actually had interesting back stories and hard ships they had to overcome, no idea if that was just done by the translation team or if it is the actual story of the anime but it was quite good considering the other content in the game.
Good job for GOG finally getting this, which it should have got years ago.

However, GOG needs the rest of these games too. So where are they? They all should have been released on GOG simultaneously today.

The store page for this game even directly states that it's a follow up to Burst. But we don't have Burst here, so what the heck? That's no good.

Are the other Senran Kagura games coming to GOG too, or not?

Also, much respect for XSEED for giving this game Crossplay, presuming that statements about that from other posters are correct.

When you are trying to keep people happy, you don't shoot all your load in one go, now, do you...?

Would need a mop if they did.

I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean, but it sounds disgusting.

Anyway, not releasing all the games simultaneously is bad for sales, because it makes customers like me uncertain of whether the other games are coming to GOG or not, and in turn, that makes me question whether this game is worth buying on GOG or not.

For example, I wouldn't want to buy this game on GOG, and then become stuck being unable to complete my collection of these games, in the event that the other games never do come to GOG.

Releasing them simultaneously would solve that problem, and cause me to buy this game, by removing any doubt about whether or not the other games are coming to GOG.

Or at the very least, failing a simultaneous release, then GOG and/or XSEED could at the very least tell us whether or not all of the Senran Kagura games that are on Steam are coming to GOG too.

But without GOG doing either of those things, then that causes me to be reluctant to buy this game even though I want to buy it, if the whole series will be coming to GOG.

One thing to keep in mind: There are 2 timelines: the 3DS one and the "Versus" one. While Burst is the common starting point for both, they added extra story content in the remake (Re:Newal) that unfortunately turned SK2 non-canon. I say unfortunately because that one is my fave both story and gameplay wise.

So the current canon goes like so: Burst Re:Newal > Shinovi VS > Estival VS > Peach Beach Splash (This one was the 5th anniversary game but it's actually part of the canon)
For GOG not to announce & therefore advertise this game in a news post is very illogical.

What are they going to do when this game goes on discount in the future?

Not ever announce that either? Never mention this game in any future sales post?

That would require GOG to maintain a blacklist of games on GOG that they deliberately do not promote. That would be a lot of work and effort and wasted money for GOG to maintain.

So, the smartest thing for GOG to do would be to announce & advertise this game properly with a formal official news post.

On that note, it would be amazing if Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson finally came to PC. Afaik, it's the only game in the series still stuck as an exclusive to its original platform.

I didn't play Re:Newal, but Marvelous said some time ago that the second game is technically the sequel to Re:Newal (source of the info)

A longshot: iirc, someone on the forum claimed that there was some eroge company/publisher that almost wanted to stop releasing here because of the fits some people were throwing in the release threads. Maybe GOG gave XSEED a heads-up over this and suggested no release thread? Again, a longshot, especially after Succubus got a recent DLC thread.

My other, main guess is GOG messed up somehow. (Pretty sure we've had releases but no release threads until the next day before?) Maybe they really are trying to hide this (at least on the forum), but I'm skeptical. It is on the front page, not prominently but under "Featured Deals" and fifth on the carousel.
