Crouching ruler, hidden diplomat.

Sengoku, a strategic overlook on the powerstruggles within feudal Japan, now DRM-free on GOG.com with a launch discount of 50%.

The great Emperor, direct descendant of the goddess and supreme ruler of the land of the Rising Sun, no longer commands the respect of his lords. As the door to your private chambers slides back into place, you begin to unfold the newly-received parchment which speaks of seizing opportunities and reaping mutual benefits. You let the message burn, the smell mingling with incense mid-air, carrying with it your thoughts on the powerplays necessary to appoint a humble clan lord as Japan's sole ruler .

Sengoku is all about planning ahead and adjusting your strategy to best utilize any newly-formed alliances or recently-discovered betrayals that threaten to derail your steady rise to power. You will first need to seize control of your clan and secure your stronghold before setting out to claim the throne of the entire Empire, being always mindful of the religious factions operating in the background. A silver tongue, a strong army and a competent heir to carry on your conquering legacy are your primary concerns as you negotiate, double-cross or violently impose your rule over 16th century Japan and become the supreme leader of the land of the Rising Sun.

Use subterfuge and military strength to become feudal Japan's new ruler in Sengoku, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Backstab it with a 50% discount that will last until January 10th, 1:59 PM GMT.
Nice release. Paradox, grand-strategy, Japan. Instabuy for me.

PaterAlf: Another interesting looking game by Paradox. Now which one should I pick up?
Go with Sengoku! Looks interesting!

As for me... we creep closer and closer to me finally getting a shot at CK2... ;)
Wishlisted for later...

I now really would like to see a big Paradox sale this year, given all the titles they brought over here. *makes money ringing noises with shekels*

Emob78: Also, this release plus last week's EU game might hint at a future Crusader Kings 2. Just sayin'.
Don't think it will be before the game is "finished" (as in received it's lats expansion / DLC, and possibly having it's successor announced).

Assuming at all, mainly due to said myriad of DLC it has (which haven't been placed / divided up very wisely in past Paradox releases over here, see the case of both HoI 3 and EUIII )

WBGhiro: Ah man, it's not Sengoku Rance
Given that Huniepop and Leisure Suit Larry made it over here, there is always hope ;)

Edit: Also Lula: The Sexy Empire.

One day, I am actually going to play these Paradox games.

Unless I die before that, of course. Or some other force majeure case like being distracted by other games.

Celton88: Also, wasn't crouching tiger hidden dragon Chinese?
Guess it's kinda more Taiwan and Hong Kong than China ;P

I'm "deep" into Crusader Kings II. Masterpiece.
Can definitely write something I've read some time ago on the *sigh* steam forums... I mean, kids dig Civilization, boys dig Crusader Kings, Sengoku... while MEN dig DOMINIONS!

;D

ps: so elderly must dig, uh, Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations? ;)

You have to be 200 hundred years old to dig CMANO. That thing is Gandalf x Dumbledor level wizard. I would say something like Gary Grigsby's War in the East/West and Pacific will fill that gap. Surprisingly WiTE is actually easy to play despite the scary size.

on topic of the game: Game is actually like crusader kings but more of a EU: Rome than the modern crusader kings. Unfortunate that it seems to run on their old Clauswitz engine. I love their new ones on CK2/EUIV.
My first game of the year. I did well! ;)
Another one that is in my back log.... Love the looks of this one though... Maybe time to dig it up.

Once you start modding a Dominions game you're gone even further!
So what does that make me? A manly geek?

Fairfox: Naaah. Less strategy and RPGs releases for pwetty ol' me, plskpls.
You'll have to be very pretty for me to accept that. ;)

Yup, but gog doesn't know any better... Even if the game was about China that tagline would still be lame.

Fairfox: Hmmm.

I will accept action-RPG. I MEAN A LITTLE BIT.
Sounds like Diablo. That I can get behind.
