Age of Pirates II

Sea Dogs: City of Abandoned Ships, a swashbuckling RPG, is available now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Formerly known as Age of Pirates II, City of Abandoned Ships continues the Sea Dogs tradition of freedom and wide-open swashbuckling adventure.

Thrown into a life of opportunity, you just have to learn to take it. Should you command and pillage the game's many ships as a cutlass-swinging, shanty-singing buccaneer, or build a network of trade and profit to reap the rewards of a merchant's life? Perhaps you'd rather seek treasure and fortune among the many secrets of the Caribbean Islands?

Like most things in City of Abandoned Ships, it's all up to you. The options are as countless as the rewards.

Revisit a time of opportunity and dubious glory in Sea Dogs: City of Abandoned Ships, now DRM-free on GOG.com

RazorwireHUN: But how similar is the land & sea combat?
"City" share land\sea combat mechanics with "Caribbean tales".
It's somewhat different from "Pirates of the carribean" - for example there is no unstopable block on land battles & ships physics is more realistic.
Don't mention about RPG system P.I.R.A.T.E.S. (it's like S.P.E.C.I.A.L. but for pirates =) ).

Cool!

Thank you, might wanna check this out then :)
Hey!
Something I don't understand, because everybody compare it to M&B. When we explore, is that a 3rd view (behind the ship) or do we see just the map from above with little icons, like in Mount and Blade, until a fight occurs? I can't even figure that when I read theposts above...
I had a *small* hope that Akella would be able to scrape out the "Pirates of the Carribean" content (since there's so little) and sell the game as Sea Dogs 2 or whatever, but perhaps that ain't gonna happen. Ah well. I'll send Akella one more email, and maybe tweet Seth Davis to see if he can say anything.

Still, nice to see this game here for those interested. :)
Nice release, thanks GOG!
The Mod "Age of Pirates II: City of Abandoned Ships Combined Mods v. 1.8 " adds quite a few characters, including female ones, to choose from. I got that file from a site that went dark; while I'm sure its easily found I do not know a trustworthy link on top of my head so you have to search for yourself if interested.

I do not know how stable that mod is; just started the game myself.

Might be just me, but this newer entry kind of comes across as a little less enticing than the predeceasing title in the franchise Sea Dogs: Caribbean Tales.
Nice.

And speaking of Akella... Can we please get Disciples 3: Reincarnation on GOG? Preferably with Disciples 3 Gold Edition included as a bonus/extra if possible since the two versions of the game play differently. It might be a flawed gem, but it's freaking gorgeous, and I need to command the Undead Hordes again!
So we're getting releases on Fridays now? Or are releases possible on any day now?

Also, the naming of these games is confusing. Some games seem to have 2 different names. Can someone list the order of release of games in this series, with the possible multiple names each one might have? Thanks.
at good price! o_O

Releases have always been a possibility on any (non-major-holiday) weekday. Tuesday through Thursday are just the most popular ones. :)
