Looks interesting and something I might be up for. The whole top-down world view while people and creatures are viewed from the side looks quite odd though. *shrug*
Saw the thumbnail and though it was Myth: Fallen Lords

But I still try another game with "countdown to disaster" theme.

This game looks incredible, and dangerously addictive...
Looks like this could be called, loosely, "Fantasy Rimworld". I've already been spending considerable energy to avoid falling back into the black hole that is Rimworld... Argh, stop making good new games!
high rated
I don't believe in paying for Downloaded Content. If you buy Rise to Ruins you will have access to the entire game and all the content I'll ever create for it, forever! I believe DLC is greedy, and you deserve to have the full gaming experience from day 1, right out of the (figurative) box!
What? Hey, you irrensponsible developer: by using business practices like this, all you do is to ruin (no pun intended) the modern videogames market. XD
awesome! i was hoping this would show up here.
Is this game has a peaceful / creative mode ?
Oh great, I was hoping for this since a long time ! Thanks for the release & the discount !

For people wondering -and from what I've seen- it's a kind of mix between The Settlers where you manage your colony and its ressources & a tower defense.

You got me at 'The Settlers'.

Maybe look at some let's play, I wouldn't like to mislead you ! For example here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_RHztZFBSI (this video is old but will still show you well !)

You manage construction, build paths, manage your ressources, manage how many people there are for each kind of work (lumberjacks, stonecutters...), tells which areas you want to harvest, etc. Hope this helps clarify :)
But if you like management, you should take a look !

Hope that what you'll see will please you :)

Then this is not very much for you. Its quite different from "The Settlers".

I would compare it more to with some [url=https://www.gog.com/game/alien_nations]Alien Nations thrown in. If you enjoyed the two examples as well then pick up Rise to Ruins because it certainly feels more like a mix between these two games and Anno. It certainly is a good game, but its not really akin to the general gameplay feel/itch that The Settlers did provide.

If you want a The Settlers game that does capture the feel of it quite well then try out Dawn of Man.

The media carousel (the bar with video & screenshots) on the product page seems to have a missing image at the end -- there's a blank spot that never loads a screenshot.
Dammit, I gave up and bought this on Steam like 2 weeks ago. But only because it's DRM-free there and runs fine without the client. And yes, it's pretty addictive. It would take a ludicrous amount of time to beat, though, as you need to survive a year in every region, which takes quite a while and there are many regions. I doubt there are many people who'd have the patience needed to do that, but it's still worth playing for some time regardless.

Also yes, it has a sandbox mode.

And yes, it is in fact fairly Settlers-like, assuming we're talking Settlers 3-4. There are a number of differences of course, but if you've played Settlers you'd be pretty at home, and would have an easier time picking the game up since the tutorial elements are minimal. I disagree that it's all that similar to Cultures, which requires a lot of micro-management, which is absent here (i.e. people will reproduce on their own without you having to tell them to).
-nevermind (sorry for useless post, I wanted to add something but it has been already said X))-
