It's just a paper cut.

Rezrog, a turn-based dungeon crawler with distinct tabletop stylings, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Every party member brings something unique to the table. Venture into the procedurally generated dungeons with the hero of your choice to tackle nasty monsters and bring back shiny loot. If you perish or get captured, send another hero to clean up your mess or make some of their own. Just make sure they're properly skilled and leveled up this time, will you?

Watch the trailer.

Looks really good, not a fan of permadeath, tabletop games and tb yeah.....worth a punt.
Looks interesting! Is it a keyboard+mouse game or does it work with a controller?

Yeah, permadeath is a conscious design decision and part of the rogue-like genre. Sadly it's also warning sign to me, as it often means lots of repetition in gameplay and environments instead of rewarding exploration, story-telling and quests. I like a bit of a challenge but I also like making progress without wasting too much time on things I've already seen before quite a lot. So I fear this might not be my cup of tea. Looks too much like Crayon Chronicles to me, a game I had fun with for two or three runs (and in those runs the stress of risking permadeath can add to the experience), before I got totally bored over having to start from scratch again (which is when the permadeath mechanics killed any interest I had in the game). But that happens to me with most rogue-likes, and it's just a matter of personal taste and preferences.

Another day, another "Diablo" clone.
I don't like permadeath as well... why not implement options for that like Terraria? Then you can play whichever style you like. And then I would have bought it right away. ;) Now I'll wait for 75% off at least.

Nope. Diablo had no Permadeath.

Maxvorstadt: First impression: interesting. Then I read the "Permadeath" thing, which is a no go.
Why do developers nowadays so often produce games with that shitty permadeath? I don`t get it. Hardrives are big enuff nowadays, so there`s no problem with saving multiple times.
It's a mechanic for the micro-managing addicts, it's counter productive to alienate supporters who aren't fellow addicts if you're a small studio if you ask me...I for one despise wasted effort and am not an automaton that enjoys playing the same game or starting over and over again, due to some RNG.

Permadeath is a selling point for some of us some of the time. In my case it has to be a turned based game with procedurally created map. I do not like permadeath in action game or playing the same map over and over again. For what it's worth I've never won in a game with permadeath, so it's not that I find them easy.

Having an iron man mode would require care and effort. Shoving in perma-death (repetition) doesn't.
From what I've played so far, it seems pretty cool. However, there is one major issue that a lot of these types of games have: You cannot save and quit during a dungeon. The only way to quit while you're in a dungeon is to exit to the map, which resets all progress since starting the dungeon.

But other then that is very much a Daiblo like rogue.
You are being very picky.
My main point still stands....I see nothing that makes this stand out from the flood of roguelike Dungeon Crawlers that is hapeening. Seems alike we have a new one every week.

There is a reason why it is called "Roguelike" and not "Diablolike". :-)

Which, along with permadeath, is a deal breaker for me.
I HATE having to repeat the same sequence time and time again. Which is why I hate autosave only. Once in a while a game comes along that handles it fairly well....I think the 2013 Tomb Raider actually did it well..but normally autosave only is something I am reluctant to deal with.
