The time has come – Resident Evil 2 is here!

Capcom's Resident Evil™ series has defined and revolutionized the survival horror genre, with the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 being standout titles that have captivated gamers worldwide. Now, it’s time for the second installment of the series to join its predecessor in the grand re-release.

Just like with Resident Evil, we made sure GOG's version of the second entry in the series is the best it can be. You can expect a variety of quality of life improvements, compatibility with modern systems, full modern controllers support, and even more.

Immerse yourself in the ultimate test of survival!

Today is a good day to revisit Raccoon City. I'm so excited to replay my favorite survival horror game once again.

Hope the sales are enough to convince Capcom to continue releasing titles on GOG after RE3 is out. So many modern and classic classic games to pick from along with PC ports that have still yet to be released anywhere.

I imagine Dino Crisis must have been brought up in discussions.
My backlog can be likened to RE zombies: infinite and slowly marching towards me while I run around collecting valves, notes, and keys.

RE2 is going to join that horde.
At least the best RE is here. :)
Damn! Thanks GOG and Capcom for delivering another Good Old Game!

Congrats on the Resident Evil 2 release GOG!
I will be waiting for the whole trilogy as one package though.

Although until then I have one question for those that already bought it and are already playing it:

How many Ink Ribbons you get in the / by the side of the first typewriter inside the mansion (Not the mansion, I mean, the police station) the first time you enter there?
1, 2 or 3?

Also, can you find the secret ammunition in the garbage can behind the big green garbage can after the green stairs?
If yes, this is indeed the original first release version

Why are those apparently random questions are important:

These are basically signs that define what version of the game people are playing because the item placement changed from version to version and also quantity of zombies in the beginning of the game. They changed from ink ribbons from 2 to 3 if I'm not mistaken, making the beginning of the game much easier in later versions that are not the first version. Also, after the first green stairs in the original there are 4 zombies, 3 males and 1 female, while on later versions there are only 2 or 3, 1 female and 2 males/1 male. At least, this is what I think, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The originals apparently were much harder, at least in the beginning of the game.
Do anybody have any info on that?
