Like a Jules Verne book turned into a game with colorful & childish (in a good way) graphics. What's not to like? :-)

Pretty steep regional pricing difference (10%)...

Sachys: So... even though I own Reus on here, I only get a 9% discount?

Thats fucked GOG!

Edit: not that I'd be buying this game anytime soon - but you're talking poo again about them discounts!
Hey Sachys, please write to Support so we can help you out :)

Besides, ultra nice devs mentioned in a very informative way the requirements for their game, gpus and drivers. This alone deserves a purchase! :P (I'm kiddin' but I'm being serious :P)
Wut?!
Very interesting game.

As far as I don't like to say "wishlist'd", I will have to say "Wishlist'd" however since I was looking at Reus for a while, and GOG still doesn't sell MacOS and Linux versions for Reus. (and not related, but I am still waiting for Linux version for Explorations: Conquistador)

Very good thing though that Abbey Games included MacOS and Linux for Renowned Explorers: International Society.

So, wishlist'd.

i read the recs and they always use NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
so i googled and that seems to be a slightly older card then the more common and also old (2009)
but seldom named GTS 250 1 GB which i have.

so after some comparising the old gts 250 1gb (2009) seems to be better then the 9600 GT (2008 according to the search results)
if only they would mention that card more in minimum game recs., cause this way it be easier for me to see if my pc can run at the min. requirements.. :D

Anyways i still have to check videos on youtube cause i assume a small 'normal' (not steam demo) is not available.
At first sight based on the screenshots i think its a 80% chance the game is not my cup of tea (i expect weird 3d turning, landscape rotating, zoom in and out, based on the screenshots.

I'm gonna check some tube videos and i hope i am wrong and that the game will be a game for me cause it looks nice.

checking videos onyoutube :D... brb
There'll be a release stream of "Renowned Explorers: International Society" at 8pm CEST (so in about 2.5 hours)
on http://www.twitch.tv/gogcom
:-)
The 25% rebate works fine for me.

I don't know if a similar board game does exist but from the video it feels like a board game adaptation.

In any case it does not look like something I'd enjoy enough to pay $15, I might buy it on impulse if it ever shows up for $5 or less during a sale. But that's due personal taste only and might change once enough peoples review it.
Just went for my first game. I didn't go very far obviously, but it seems pretty fun. Nice exploration and risk/reward mechanism. That part is very boardgame-y

Then there are the fights, which are HOMM-like. Seems a bit weaker, but it's too early for me to really tell.

The tutorial is good at teaching the very basics, but there are a lot of intricate mechanisms, and I the details are not easily accessible on the help system.
Ooh! Interesting! I absolutely adored Reus and spent enough time with it to 100% it, so the name Abbey Games is almost enough for me to buy it on the spot. I'll wait for a few reviews to show up to see if there are no glaring issues, but I plan on grabbing this before the Reus discount ends.
Yeah. I like Reus. I hope this game at least as fun as Reus did. But still, wishlist for now.

i have all the HOMM except the 3d versions, i like the HOMM attacks better cause it is less rotating, dynamic, and flashy when a hero is hit. there are weapon flashes but they are bareable :D

the renowned chars. are lit up in 1 color, yellow , blue or other, a simple -22 or -45 would also suffice and still show damage was done (maybe a menu option to turn the hit states off so that char. wont be yellow or flashes(photosensitivity)

the dynamic zooming and appearing after the text your turn(motionsickness)

If this happens once in the game then i can bare it, but 3 or more fights in a row with these flashes are too much
for the eyes (already wear special dark glasses)

Braveland uses a -x number of life when a char. is hit, i almost finished the game and as far as i could see i havent seen any flashy chars.

So basically i have to leave the game as it is, and cant buy it only because of the flashy effects and turning /zooming turning effects, other then that the game is the game type i like :D
i have a few like these, but without the flashy stuff.

I read lots about bardbarian so when it was cheap at steam i got it, decent playabale game BUT
the big boss came around and guess what: thunder lightning and the works, so i removed the game from the drive

Games can still be exciting without : 3d scaling , 3d zooming, lightning flashes, zooming and panning and all that heavy stuff.

Hey gamesfreak64, did you try turning on "Quick Encounter Animations" in the Game Settings menu? That might help make things a little bit less flashy and will remove camera zooming.
