Stars, robots, and Greek mythology - it’s all there and it is glorious.

Relayer Advanced is now available on GOG! This amazing simulation RPG depicts an epic battle between Starchildren, who have awakened to the will of the stars, and Relayer - a mysterious intelligent life form that plans to invade the earth.

Players will command the Stellar Gear unit that the Starchildren board and battle against the Relayer forces. On stage, you will lead their troops to victory by making full use of many strategic systems: Hate - which quantifies how easily enemies target you, Skills - specific to jobs and characters, Backstab - which launches pincer attacks, and Big Bang - incredible special move.

But that’s not all - 13 Relayer Advanced DLCs and 3 various Packs are also now available on GOG, all with a 10% launch discount (including the base game) that lasts until November 25th, 3 PM UTC.

11 of the DLCs contain modified Stellar Gear mecha units for Starchildren:
Astoria NEXT (modified unit for Terra)
Amaterasu NEXT (modified unit for Sun)
Herschel NEXT (modified unit for Uranus)
Petasos NEXT (modified unit for Mercury)
Galaxy Star NEXT (modified unit for Milky Way)
Comet NEXT (Modified unit for Halley)
Al-Jauza NEXT (modified unit for Mintaka)
Epsilon NEXT (modified unit for Alnilam)
Zeta NEXT (modified unit for Alnitak)
Amatsu-Mikaboshi NEXT (modified unit for Venus)
Neo Mars NEXT (modified unit for Mars)

And when it comes to other 2 DLCs:

Spin-Off Stories - collection of three fully-voiced spin-off stories about the daily lives of the Asterism crew that are not included in the main story. Also unlocks the Azur's Battle Data and custom chip, which increases SG earned.

Into The Lost Code - original soundtrack of the game.

But don’t worry, you don’t need to get all of those individually:

Stella Gear NEXT PACK - includes 9 of the modified mecha units mentioned above.
EXTRA PACK - includes the base game and Stella Gear NEXT PACK.
Season Pass - includes 2 of the modified mecha units mentioned above and 6 brand new ones that will be released on November 24th.

Reglisse: Relayer Advanced EXTRA PACK is 23% off on Steam...48,89€.
Why I should pay more here to have the privilege to get the game later?
avatar
Syphon72: No one is forcing you to buy the game on GOG. There is so much whining on forums.

avatar
Reglisse: Yep...my choice to let die GOG and buy all the next games on Steam to be able to...play them on my choosing OS...
A long time ago multiplayer games here was always with LAN option.
Not anymore...most of the last Multi games here you are forced to use Galaxy.
So...DRM free...really?

And a lot of games have a Linux build...on Steam Only.
So...why,I should buy here first?

Blue ...where is Galaxy for Linux?
avatar
Syphon72: Most new games nowadays don't even have LAN. Not sure why you are surprised when new game has no LAN play. Like I said, you can always buy games on steam. No one is forcing you at gunpoint to buy from GOG.
I was super happy back in 2014 to find GOG...no more crappy app to download my games!
Then...Galaxy appeared...and...sorry but not everything is really DRM free...
My last problem with DRM free:Steelrising...404 error found on direct DL page for days...
Yes...I feel sad about the new policies.
It's like Galaxy is first and DRM free second.
And It's more and more common...
So for now I choose GOG over Steam when a game is released...and I cross my fingers for working Direct Download Links...

Look, I have over 1300 games from GOG, never had to use Galaxy. To be honest the only reason I have Galaxy install is because It more convenient for downloading games. I know lots people dislike Galaxy but I'm pretty sure it open the door to lot newer games coming to GOG.

Also, I don't use Linux much, but agree lets get Galaxy on it.

Clownski_: GOG GALAXY is not mandatory.
Careful what you post. I know that this is GOGs statement again and again but unfortunately it does not make it true for every single thing here on GOG. Otherwise this thread would not even exist:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/drm_on_gog_list_of_singleplayer_games_with_drm

One might argue how important some of the content locked behind Galaxy really is but saying that GOG Galaxy is completely optional in any case simply is not true. You can play every game (in single player) without Galaxy ... but you can't access everything GOG has to offer.

I just purchased the game, EXTRA DLC pack and Season pass and there are no offline installers. https://ibb.co/zVzZnNQ

Why is this problem with offline installers such an issue here?

You know...I loved GOG for the awesome Direct Links...and for the awesome people working here.
Today, you need to play with a bot before to be able to contact a "human being".
I own a bit more than 1000 games here myself and I get that "404 not found" more often these days than before...
And I would be happy to get Galaxy for Linux...because (for now) I trust GOG more than Steam for privacy and with Galaxy for Linux a lot of games without a Linux build here that's because Multiplayer implementation.

For now we need to focus on "Relayer" ...It's not the "Galaxy" or "Linux" thread...

Have a nice day ^^

I still think that thread is nitpicking about something.

Nitpicking or not is not the question. I was simply saying that the expression "Galaxy is not mandatory" is not completely true. Iit does not matter who considered what as "important" or not.

Sorry I want off topic. Would you recommend this game to someone who likes Gundam and strategy games?

Looks cool! Underserved genre that I really like!

In fact, I actually bought a Gameboy or DS or something years ago JUST to play a game called Super Robot Taisen (spelling?).

Anyone familiar with both games care to share how similar this is? Can you upgrade / level up pilots and pick new skills? (So you can train melee pilots, snipers, etc). Is there a lot of customization with the mechs themselves? (Weapons, maybe armor and trinkets, radar and such?)

I love that I look at the battle grid and find it a bit... busy ... and then in the game description it talks about how the ORIGINAL UI was revamped to get to THIS heh. It wasn't a total deal breaker, but in games like this information and ease of use of the field is sort of important - that it slightly grates and THIS is the improved version is sort of funny.

It's a good game (played on PS5 before).
Combat is a bit simplistic if you compare with some Bandai-Namco games but enjoyable for the story alone ^^
It's a bit heavy on the VN part...so if you don't like reading...
Also,I think the Team behind this game is the original Team from Front Mission...
The game itself looks interesting - RPG with giant robot battles. I'm not keen on all the DLCs when it looks like a soundtrack (maybe), worthless audio drama, and a bunch of worthless costumes.

I do love front mission. Might wait to pick it up on the winter sale.

Clownski_: GOG GALAXY is not mandatory.
Galaxy is mandatory for alternate (e.g. beta/preview) builds, reverting patches, and many, many other features you can go ahead and just wave away with "oh, that's optional". The option, of course, being "use Galaxy or reverse engineer GOG's services and roll your own client or you're SOL". The fact that you could support all of these features without Galaxy if you actually tried (i.e. wanted to) is irrelevant. Galaxy is the only thing that matters to you. Not having even so much as a Galaxy compatible dummy library for use with Linux builds means games aren't built for Linux on GOG, but hey, OS is a "choice" as well, as pointed out by users above. The choice being, of course, either use MS Windows, or don't get crap from GOG. Why did you guys even advertise Linux support in the first place? It's not like you give a damn about Linux (how many years has it been now since you promised Galaxy for Linux?); it wouldn't surprise me in the least to read one of your "GOG site update" posts that reads "Officially dropping Linux support -- too much trouble: waste of time and money". Much like GOG has become a waste of time and money.
Thanks for the release! Wishlisted for now, my currently and next-to-play lists are packed.

I also haven't heard enough about this game to decide how high on my wishlist it should sit. I've heard good things from a few reviewers, like praise for its gameplay and story, but I've been burned before when using such a limited data set. So I'll wait for more info.

If anyone here has had experience with it (or the old version), I'd love to hear about it!
