I'm PiranJade who now has a GOG employee account. Hello! :)
Meaning I also still have my "private" account.
Makes the site just a wee bit more professional-looking <3

Ah okay. :)
YES!!!! THANK YOU GOG!
Instabought!. You guys are a godsend!
I remember playing and loving both this and Armageddon on my PlayStation 3 years ago. I went on to buy Guerrilla for PC via Steam a few years later but my PC was too ancient for it to run. The DirectX was too old to even boot it. I’ve since upgraded my PC and am more than happy to buy this version of a fantastic game from a wonderful company who continuously serves all of us in the GOG Community. Thank you for being visible and active here as well as constantly bringing us day 1 releases.

I’m looking forward to destroying everything with my sledgehammer that you’ve worked so hard to create! >:D

TheGreatDustpan: It's about not having a lesser product than the one found on Steam. It's a missing feature.
Generally the Steam version is the lesser product since many Steam titles have some form of DRM. If cutting achievements is the cost of cutting DRM, I'll take it.

Experiment513: Why care so much about achievements? o.O

Alexim: This has become a matter of principle: why here on GOG should we have a lower version of the game?
That's where my priorities differ. I rather would like to see some effort spent to bring the original game as a bonus to GOG than to add achievements to the new game out of "principle".

I'd love it too if they added the original game, the problem is that they said that version is heavily dependent on Steam, so it would require a lot of work apparently.

I don't think that achievement can be an insurmountable obstacle for a software house like THQ Nordic, when even indie devs with a low budget are able to implement them.
There is no real excuse for not adding the achievements, GOG has the structure that supports them, and THQ Nordic can clearly afford them.
Thanks so much for re-mars-tering this game and the great launch discount.

I never played the original, i've been having an absolute blast and i'd have probably never played this otherwise.

The original DVD version doesnt use Steam. It does use GFWL (which is still active and online so you can still pop achievements and such should you want to on it.) but its also easy to remove as Fallout 3 uses it and has GFWL disabled on the GOG version. There are also patches online that can disable GFWL from the original retail version.

In this case add the original version as a bonus should be simple, they have done this for other games.
But on Steam also the original have the achievements, so here on GOG we should have at least one version complete, realease the Re-Mars-stered without them seems to be just a work done with minimal efforts to earn a few more easy dollars.

Not as easy as you make it sound - there still might be some licensing issues with the original game.
Not to mention that even if it would be brought here, that doesn´t mean the achievements will work.

If they are as much integrated with Steam as they say. they won´t work either.
Anyone able to play multiplayer? I’m not finding any games, wondering if it’s a game/connection issue, or if there is just not a single other person playing?
