Looks like a better looking Factorio but without the defense mechanic.
Roadmaps like this read as, "Game not yet done. Please wait for later so you don't have to relearn it a bunch of times." Been burned by too many games with "roadmaps". (Still waiting to be able to play Edge of Eternity...)

I saw that too... Factorio's not one fun for me. I'll have to wait and see on this (especially since it's clearly not done yet).

I'd play Factorio if it ever went on sale. However, it's basically never been on sale and has only increased in price by 5$ since it came out.
Does the game have a sandbox mode?

it sis planned for the future, please check roadmap on the game page.
i will pass this because of the planned update 4
Looks cool enough - but it's still Early Access.

Okay, I know they aren't calling it Early Access, but that ROADMAP says it is.

Will Wishlist and keep an eye on - but I'm not into Early Access (even if they don't call it that).

(Plus - it looks like a lot of Steam integration is roadmapped-out - which makes me wonder how mods will be handled for the GOG release - they should say and not make us guess).
Will the map editor also be available on GOG?

Only time will tell.
Since this is in "continued development" (aka: early access / inDev), nobody can answer that yet.

Yepp. Definitely looks very Steam-centric. Caveat emptor!

Noice! It's finally here. *rejoices*

It may have some (light) automation, but overall I'd say it's probably closer to something like Train Valley than Factorio.
Finally it's here! Damn, this is an instant buy for me at least.

Forget about early access here, there's plenty of game content here for that prize.

^^ All of this.
There is a pretty big risk that future development will be Steam-only.
And what about the planned Steamworks support? Will that block off other ways of modding?
Too many questions...

edit:
They ask the same price for the game on GOG and Steam.
But I believe that GOG users will receive an inferior version b/c of Steam exclusive features.

I never get why people throw around "like Factorio" so often when it's not really warranted. On an axis having Factorio on one side and Train Valley 2 on another, Railgrade moves slightly towards Factorio from Train Valley but the remaining distance is still astronomical.

It's a cute logistic puzzler on comparatively tiny maps. It can scratch a similar itch for those of us who have played too much Factorio over the years and want something similar-but-different logistic-wise every now and again while we wait for the real expansion to finish.

If we are going for a like-description, I'd rather say a bit of Transport Tycoon/OpenTTD with Train Valley 2. That's not really good, but much better than anything involving Factorio.

I played it a bit yesterday evening and while it's not too bad, it was a bit of a huge downer to see that a game which puts trains absolutely center apparently does not even try to have signals. Trains just pass through another with one of them ghosting and freezing during the collision. Granted, it avoids having to deal with crashed trains and you probably want to avoid that if you want the max ranked solutions but it was still grating on me.
I'm enjoying the idea, and the fact that it isn't Factorio, meaning I don't have to worry about one of the devs going on a screed about McCarthyism.
