Losing is fun.

Prison Architect, the only prison you'll never want to leave, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com featuring GOG Galaxy achievements with a 33% launch discount.

After two years of alpha - Prison Architect, the premiere prison sim, is finally complete. Since its alpha premiere, it has been played by millions and became something of a household name in the indie scene, and for good reason: Prison Architect is a deep web of interlocking systems that interact with each other in complex, sometimes hilarious ways. Combined with a Dwarf Fortress-like approach, even the most insignificant problem can snowball into total chaos - but no matter what happens, losing is fun.
Playing Prison Architect is like watching the inner workings of a clock - one that you made all by yourself - and the term "like clockwork" will take on a new, particularly satisfying meaning. You'll also tackle moral dilemmas (should you find yourself anything but indifferent). Are you about precision & efficiency, do you believe criminals should be put to work, or would you prefer to do everything in your power to reintegrate them into society? Prison Architect will not be judgmental.
The Prison Architect release introduces two major features: Story Chapters, and Escape Mode.
Story Chapters are a way for new players to get acquainted with the many facets of Prison Architect. In what resembles a condensed alpha experience, the Story Chapters will increase in complexity and introduce more and more features to the game as you go on. You'll be running a full-blown, fully-simulated prison before you know it.
So you've built your prison. You've optimised your fortress of righteousness. Now, are you up to the challenge of escaping your very own creation? In an entertaining gameplay reversal, Escape mode puts you in the shoes of just another prisoner and tasks you with two goals: 1) Get by. 2) Get out. Build up your character from zero to anti hero with a multitude of perks, smuggle a teaspoon and dig your way out, or build up a reputation and start an all-out revolution.

Alongside your game, you can pick up the Aficionado DLC, and score access to the official Artbook as well as OST.

Losing is fun in Prison Architect, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, October 13, 2:59 PM GMT.
If I missed this forgive me, but it looks like the Name in Game DLC is online only. Can someone clarify that for me before I pay for it.

Will you need to log into a website to submit the name? Absolutely. Not sure what else you mean by online only? Description clearly states you don't need an online connection.

Thanks Pheace.

I read the description but there was also something there about constant updates and stuff which would lead me to believe being on line was a little more important, but as a tech moron I very well could have gotten that wrong.

I guess you are referring to this part, right?
New prisoners will be incorporated into the game with each update.
The way I understand it, you register the serial key in Introversion's site and once your character has been approved, you will see him incorporated in the game in a future patch
Well, I eat my words. Thanks for matching the price, GOG.
I don't understand the fair price pollicy. How does it work? The german store page reads 27.99 € - 9,30 € (33 % off) = 18.69 €. Then there is the 0,70€ fair price store credit. This means the faire price would be 17,99 €. But the price in Spain seems to be 13,32 €?

The fair price doesn't seem to be very fair – is there something that I'm not considering?

The fair pricing policy is simple. If your game costs more then in the USA region which is the base pricing region for games on gog you get the difference between your higher price and the USA price as store credit. All the other prices you are seeing have higher discount for the game set up by the devs/publishers usually for poorer regions (Russia, Ukraine, East Europe, etc.).
Is anyone playing the DRM free version from Humble here?

Decided to try it again now that's it properly released but after updating I seem to be lacking graphics.... :/

The rooms show up as checkerboard's with names on, but no walls or furniture or anything else seems to appear.

Play the campaign. It explains what needs to go where to make the room working.

Right now I'm getting my ass kicked with cell walls. It won't accept a cell as being walled in unless I totally wall it in, AND THEN add the door.

If anyone has a workaround for this, I'm all ears.

Grargar has it right - basically to get your name in game (at least this was the case in early access), you were given a serial key to register on the site (thusly confirming you've paid for name in game), where you can piece together your prisoner, who will then go through the approval process and appear in a future update / patch presuming you've not put anything too offensive.

Took about 4 weeks for mine to appear in game.

No, I'm fairly sure this is a bug... I tried it ages ago when I got it and unless they have vastly changed how it works I think there should be more... I'll try again and take a screenshot to show what I mean.

Edit: Attached a picture, that's what shows up as soon as I load the game.. I'm fairly sure it should be an actual prison with roads and walls and stuff...

No that's what shows up. The trucks pull up and off you go. I guess the sandbox is the default.

If you want to play a scenario you just ESC out of there.

Ah. That's fine then... I'll give it another try.
Thanks :)
Shit, it's not letting me screen capture and I'm still getting this "Not surrounded by walls and doors" crap. :P
Well....looks like I got my weekend planned. I wonder how many forumites I can fit into a cell blck? :D
