In the sands of time.

Predynastic Egypt is now available DRM-free, 50% off until October 31st 2pm UTC.

Before claiming the top of the civilizations pyramid, the Egyptians had to deal with plenty of ground-level problems: decimating epidemics, conflicts with enemies of the state both on the inside and outside, taming the land. Witness their impressive progress in an epic turn-based strategy that begins in 5000 B.C.

You can check out the demo first.
Interesting, nice price, worth the punt to skip the demo at that price.

Deadmarye: So I suppose we can hope to see each game Clarus Victoria made on GoG at some point ? =)
For now, we're only sure about Predynastic Egypt, Egypt: Old Kingdom and the following projects. From our side, there are no obstacles to prepare the rest of our games for GOG, but since it's a mutual agreement we have to ask for GOG's opinion about that :)
The interface alone is outstanding. All eras of Egypt are a fantastic setting. Good to see this here.
Looks interesting.

Alas! In the gameplay trailer at 1:00 it says "Turns to the end of the game: 17" - so, unfortunately, it's no game for me.
I like temporal unlimited freedom in my games.

Miss_Terry: Egypt: Old Kingdom including DLC will be released next week.

i_hope_you_rot: Why not today ?
It was decided by GOG, so you'll have to redirect this question to them.

Lifthrasil: Turn based strategy in a non-standard setting and with a demo? Nice! And a Linux release too. Very nice! Thank you, Clarus Victoria!
I'm going to download the Demo right away and try it and probably buy it tomorrow.
Thank you! We hope you'll enjoy the game!

My guess is that this is a sales reason. Old Kingdom is a superior version of the game so only completionists would buy this one if they were both released at the same time.

The game is not expensive, so I think that I'm gonna buy this one too to have the series complete. Yes I'm a completionist. ;)

No hard feelings! We believe in the freedom of choice! ;)
A hint for the future: Egypt: Old Kingdom, which will be released next week, has no such limit :)

Miss_Terry: Hello!
Welcome! Never heard of your game (or your studio -- sorry :P) before but the artwork is very pleasing to my eye. Thanks for providing a demo, which is something i will definitely check out before making my decision on it because PE looks like a mobile game, something i usually avoid for various reasons (most importantly: lack of depth). Having said that, i can't deny the fact that there were some really good mobile games that were ported to PC and i enjoyed very much (Atlantic Fleet for example), so i hope PE falls into that category.

ps. Another game to play while listening to Nile. \m/ :P
Ta for the demo, downloaded, will give that a try.

older game?

i hope its not this game: https://youtu.be/RKhUa5shKzw?t=17

If it is, its no buy for me.... my stomache turned at 17 seconds the water the rotating too much motions.

The current game at sale seems flat : i played the demo and bought the game ≖‿≖ i assume the rest of the game is the same: simple and flat.

edit: is the game only 17 turns ? i assume you refer to the demo ? :D

This game is more like a puzzle than a strategy, you have to play in a "proper way", try to deviate and you will lose. Almost no replayability as well, unless you care a lot about your final score.

Yes, it's that one. :)

The new 3D engine might not be everyones taste but it differs from Predinastic Egypt in this way:

- more diversity in the game,
- varied tasks in the regions
- different tactics for playthroughs
- unique bonuses from patron gods
- longer gameplay
- New technologies: 3D engine and skeletal animation

Ah, that's good. I hate turn limits too. So I might wait for Egypt: Old Kingdom. But I'll still try the demo tonight. :-)

Thanks for this release (and for the discount, for answering here, and for the demo), I was waiting for it a lot ! Finally I'll be able to play it ! I'll play it tonigh :D
I really like your previous games in this series (especially Pre-Civilization Marble Age & Pre-Civilization Bronze Age) and play them regularly, I really hope they'll finally come here too :)
Concerning Egypt: Old Kingdom, how are the system requirements ? I've got an old nvidia GT440, will this be sufficient ? (I saw it's in 3D so I'm a bit wondering how my old comp' will handle it ^^")
