Dude, I totally missed you.

Paradise Lost, the unhinged expansion pack for the unsavory cult hit POSTAL 2 is finally available DRM-free on GOG.com.

Post(al)-apocalypse has never been so wack! The Dude ventures back into his former hometown looking for his lost dog but instead finds trouble in all shapes, sizes, and heartbeats. The citizens have gone nuclearly insane, gotten themselves zombified, joined freaky factions (sort of the same thing, really), and pretty much given the Dude plenty of reasons to turn them into radioactive pulp as he free-roams this loco land.

mike_cesara: Welcome on GOG Rich!
That is ok, apology accepted ; )
I do hope, however, RWS will be more communicative in the future and we'll get Linux ports here rather sooner than later as well as Postal Redux.
One thing, could you please get a dev badge from GOG? Will be much easier for all of us.
take your time, have a peek around, grab some games perhaps? the place isn't as bad as some may think ; )

Rich-RWS: Oh, I already have a personal GOG account with tons of games on it! It simply uses a very different handle so I decided to make a new one using my RWS Name! :)

And yeah, getting a dev badge would probably be a good idea, but that would mean I'd have to bug my bosses about that, and make it a whole thing! I'm too awkward for that! But if needed, I could do something to prove that I am who I say I am.

In any case, thanks for the kind words! I definitely aim to try and be better about keeping in touch with the GOG sphere of fans, going forward.

EDIT- Oh, looks like my bosses did the developer badge for me, while I was typing this out! So yeah! :D
Oops, I had an impression you have just joined us.. Glad to hear I was wrong, you supposedly know everything you should know.
Some of us buying digital releases exclusively here (DRM-free matters), and we are always happy with new additions. Even if we sometimes have to wait and wait and wait.. So, don't mind some harsh words in our hospice ; )
I'd like to ask, would it be possible to add PostEd to Postal 2 goodies? As far as I know editor is based on UnrealEd and therefore shouldn't be tied exclusively to the Steam Workshop.
Anyway, pass my best to the team! I had a truly great time in the late nineties playing the very first Postal with my friends. And yeah, we were adults already ; ) I think RWS could continue with Postal and make another one. Especially now, when Duke is lying in coma and even if he woke up, we can't be sure if he still got his balls or those were removed in the name of correctness, We badly need a badass protagonist to keep ourselves sane in today's sissy world.

Nothing to do with Gamergate but wasn't it Steam that recently banned all controversial material like visual novels and games with potentially offensive anime stuff in it? People might like or dislike it but for me this does not sound "neutral" at all.

Edit: Disregard this. My statement was obviously based on outdated information.

They sent out warnings to publishers, but apparently they were triggered by an automated system, seemingly some group trying to get games they don't like removed sorta similar to a DMCA complaint but on the grounds of so called "offensive material". As a result, Steam seemingly looked into what happened and came out with their new policy to be hands off when it comes to curation outside of obvious hate speech and asset flips.

My guess is that Steam saw the way these individuals exploited their automated system, decided it was too much trouble to fix and just turned it off instead. No surprise that the usual suspects in "games journalism" is now outraged that Steam won't remove games at their beck and call and outrage.

It's probably the way Steam chose to ignore them that made these rags double-down on the next most popular online games retailer when they could find an excuse...

There was a drama, in the end steam went with announcement they don't give a crap if you're offended or dislike. So long as it's not illegal they wont remove it and concentrate on adding filtering tools.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet: I'm a gamer. I'm pro-GG. I don't give a crap what any of the "gamers are dead" pseudo-journalists think and I don't click links to their websites. I buy games here, many more than I have time to play, to support an industry that I love, and to support GOG's work advancing DRM-free gaming.

Removing the tweet - whatever. But supporting a narrative crafted by those who unabashedly hate and deride gamers crosses the line and irritates me. If you want to remain my first choice, GOG, then I'd suggest *not* referring to customers like me as part of an "abusive movement".

Oh, I was not aware about this. Thank you both for clarification.

and bought.

I also snagged the very discounted Overlord 2 even though I haven't played #1. :P

Keep up the good work GOG and keep the releases coming, I will keep grabbing them.

After catching up on this shitshow, you've just said excactly what I was going to.

Careful where you're headed with this GOG.
As I said I did not know much about Gamergate and what the controversy was all about (yes, in fact in Germany it was not a big issue at all). So I decided to inform myself. Maybe some will find these videos as interesting as I did.

Rich-RWS:
It look like in NEXT Postal there must be TWO tombstones. And on the second one, the date of that very GOG tweet should be placed. And the remark that so-called "game journalism" could still repeat its suicide, no matter how paradoxically it sounds.

It was really hard getting to the VG247 article, because they're into findom & I'm not.

Anyway, here's an archive. https://archive.fo/n2wTG

Usually, I skip the article (among other reasons, because I already know what they're saying, how they're saying it & what a piece of trash subhuman scum I am), and skip straight to the comments, because I NEED to know that there are good, kind-hearted, tolerant, pure, angelic people in this world & they WILL tell us all how virtuous they are.

For example, I couldn't go on another day without realising how much better than me (or anyone else) Shocksplicer is. "Words have meaning, dipshit" indeed. You put us all in our place.

But there seems to be an inordinate amount of trolls commenting in the article. How dare they question our gamejourno overlords?

Anyway, RWS, because of what you call humour, GOG is now flat on its back being abused by the noblest, most righteous segment of our population, an abuse that is only going to continue to escalate, because they keep curling up into a ball & crying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry".

You probably find this all very funny. Tsk-tsk.

"Abusive Movement"...... *rolls eyes*

You're not going to lose my custom GOG as I'm not petty like that, but bowing down to the mob the way you have... I'm just disappointed...

Something else entirely; could it be that Postal 2: Paradise Lost is actually not banned at all in Germany? I mean Postal 2; yes. But Postal 2: Paradise Lost is an entirely different beast.

According to the German site "Schnittberichte.de" it is just "unrated" (not indexed or banned) and therefore would have to be treated as "Ab 18".

However according to this Steam had to remove it then but maybe that was just the case because it was part of a bundle including Postal 2.
