XboxClown89: Ultimately it being here means the game safe from going extinct. But it also suggests other games Limited Run Games could end up on here too. Please Gex Trilogy you gotta show up for us fans!!!
Rocket Knight Re-Sparked! Collection for one is semi-confirmed to be released on GoG at some point, via the presence of Galaxy-related files in the release build, if I recall correctly.

Atreyu666: You gotta go way lower... C-movie, D-movie, E-movie... not low enough. But it's a cult since the AVGN ranted about it I think :D
LOL! ;)
LMAO!!! .. What the actual fuck? Why? ... Thanks for the laugh, I guess?

Alexim: GOG shouldn't have accepted games from Limited Run until it secured major titles...
Starting with a trashy title like this isn't a good strategy.
Exactly!

SargonAelther: Oh I've always wanted to try this stupid game! Weird old games deserve preservation too!

Thank you Limited Run Games and GOG!

Please consider implementing achievements and releasing Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection too!
avatar
amok: All games deserve to be preserved, but that does not mean all games need to be sold or should be available to buy. gOg is a store, and we should not rely on stores for preservation. Stores are inherently biased, and we can never achieve true preservation if it is store-based. This is why for all other art forms, we have museums, collections, and archives, usually provided by society, community, and the public. For example, the British Library has an archive containing one copy of all books released in the UK; no matter quality or profitability - this is what true preservation entails.

This is missing for games, granted, but there are initiatives out there set up to collect and preserve digital games and related materials (such as cover art, design documents, and so on). It is a problem for other popular culture art as well, and copyright has a lot of the blame here.

BreOl72: I'm pretty dang sure the

low license fees ($3,-) also play a role Sure.

amok: Nice, thanks for agreeing with me!
^^^

all of THIS.

this weird rebrand or side-brand of gog as "preservationist" just doesn't work for me when they're a store.

stores have a profit motive, not a preservationist motive. gog can - thus - never be a TRUE archivist.

[at very best, they can bring games to light for a little while in a drm-free format where someone who's interested in buying them TO archive can do so.]

---

not strictly related.

sigh. i mean, on one hand, as others have pointed out, limited run games can't /necesssarily/ limit the run of a digital game, but i'll bet anything they DID try. [you can only sell 500 copies total, ever, on the gog store!1!!!!1!]

this is the least good publisher you could have set up shop with, gog.

lrg, if you're reading, with all apologies, i'll never support your business model. it's absolutely gross and the very worst sort of fomo.

Oh, fun.... More softporn FMV games that are more show and less interactive.

I mean higher quality video (that isn't dithered to hell) might be nice, but otherwise it's... well... probably not worth it.

Wow, this is really great news. But until you see it, don't believe it, really. Sparkster is one of my favourite SNES games. I played Rocket Knight on PC in 2011 (on Steam). And, that was the last title in the series I played. It would be awesome to see this game or the original classic series on GOG. Let's cross our fingers for this game to be integrated into the GOG catalogue. Thanks for the info. A hug! :)

Breja: ...but I'd estimate that value at a fraction of this price.
I would NOT buy that for a dollar! ... or even a quarter.

I bet you at some point they give it away for free on GOG? LOL!
The first AVGN video I saw.
Thanks, but pass. Only dirty cheap and for the laughs.

3DO, Jaguar, Sega CD, Laserdisc, were victims of their time and their catalogs.

At least Jeanne Basone fits well for her age.

I will add:
Panic in the Park
Byzantine: The Betrayal
Kofun
Temujin
Marbella Vice
to the Swedrami's list.

Of all the games...
Always funny to be reminded of games like this.
avatar
amok: 'Plumbers Don't Wear Ties' became a symbol of everything people perceived as being wrong with the 3DO.
avatar
dadiddy: German Wikipedia's article on the 3DO proves you're right. (Or you wrote it.)
The 3DO was a good machine but this is the game that gave it a negative reputation it didn't deserve.

Alexim: Controversial opinion: GOG shouldn't have accepted games from Limited Run until it secured major titles such as Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection. Starting with a trashy title like this isn't a good strategy.
It's not even a good collection. It's missing half the games!

avatar
Atreyu666: Remembering the AVGN review makes me want this game. But not for THAT price... I'll wait for a sale.
Somehow I think you're the target audience since AVGN pops up in the doc.

argamasa: 3DO, Jaguar, Sega CD, Laserdisc, were victims of their time and their catalogs.
There's nothing wrong with FMV as a genre but this is a bad example. I maintain Ground Zero Texas is one of the best examples of the genre on Mega CD.

The doc just feels like a circle jerk of culture experts who never even bought the game back in the day.
