Even Eternity must come to an end.

Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part II, the final chapter to the opening of the Pillars of Eternity saga that enthralled both RPG veterans and newcomers, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux. To celebrate the epic conclusion, Pillars of Eternity is discounted by 50% until February 19.

The second part of the expansion pack to the acclaimed RPG brings players back to the perilous, enchanting lands of Eora. The Watcher's dreams are invaded by visions of a terrible, bio-metallic army that marches unopposed on the Eastern Reach, wreaking havoc in its path. Speculations on The Eyeless' origins abound but no one knows for sure whence they came or why they seem so hell-bent on destroying everything in their path. What is not up for speculation is their menacing, statuesque appearance, befitting of the work of a god.

Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part II provides closure to story threads left unresolved at the end of Part I and also brings a new barbarian companion named Meneha to the party. Thanks to a new mode called "Story Time" players will have the chance to experience the game's story at a faster pace, plus the new Update 3.0, going live alongside The White March - Part II, includes a streamlined combat UI, updates to the Stronghold, and a number of other improvements and in-game features.

Gather your party and your remaining strength before you venture into Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part II, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount on all editions of Pillars of Eternity will last until February 19, 3:59 PM GMT.

tfishell: It really comes down to if a publisher wants to bother with GOG or not, considering GOG has grown a lot as the years have gone by but is still minuscule compared to Steam. Me, I'll do more viewing from afar.
Which do you think would be more convincing to a publisher, a vocal minority complaining on a retailer's forum or a significant amount of potential customers directly contacting the publisher to inform the publisher that the customers would like to purchase the publisher's games from the specified retailer? Which is more like to get one's attention, apathy or direct action?
So on Obsidian's official forum I got a dev response, quote:

After speaking with Paradox I was told that it is a technical issue with GOG technology. I guess they would have to make upgrades to their pipeline to support it. When they fix those pipeline issues we should be able to offer the upgrade path to users.

NOTE: I have not spoken to anyone from GOG, so I can't personally verify if this is the case, but I don't have any reason to think it's false.
So there you have it, it's not Obsidian's fault, neither Paradox, but GOG alone.

Frankly I find it hard to believe that they're unable to do this, there isn't even game data to be included but a few pdf's and art, and it's nothing they haven't done before for other games.

At this point, I can hardly find any credibility left in GOG, after all the let downs they've been dragging all along I'm really considering not buying anything else until these things are sorted.
The part II is appearing as non-owned in the game page, but I have the installer. More people is having this bug?

Paradox claims there's "a technical issue with GOG technology" which is why an upgrade package for PoE is not being offered, despite the fact GOG provides upgrade packages for how many other dozens of games? What could possibly be so special about PoE that GOG needs "to make upgrades to their pipeline to support it" as far as an upgrade package is concerned? Obviously I don't know what Paradox's first-hand public response is, but I think that if Paradox really wanted to to make a PoE upgrade package available on GOG they could do so.
That Paradox response reads like they're bullshitting, to be brutally honest. If it were up to Paradox GOG wouldn't even have PoE, they won't expend any excess effort on this version.

Whenever someone says "I don't have any reason to believe it's false" or similar alarm bells start flashing because people only ever say that when they know they've said something which seems unlikely and that people are going to be sceptical about.

Ganni1987: The library does not show the game as updated, but it clearly is... may be just timing issue, maybe more serious problem.
The only way to semi-reliably know if a game has been updated is to monitor the "What did just update?" thread in the forums, and especially review all of the Magog game changes postings from mkgnao, filtering out Mac/etc. and language updates that you're not interested in. Game update notifications through the website almost never work properly or at least can't be trusted as reliable for eons now. Sometimes a game gets an important update and you never get an update notification about it at all ever, other times you get a notification of a game being updated that never was updated at all. Other times you get update notifications for games that got updated on Mac or Linux but you don't care about those. The whole web update notification system is just broken for eons now. If using Galaxy client, you don't get any updates at all other than games that are already installed and only if there are updates to the installed files themselves, not the bonus extras, and only then if you turn auto-updates off, or happen to see the 0.01 millimeter blue circle on page 5 of your game library for that game. :)

mkgnao's posts in the update thread are the most reliable source of update info here.
The Season Pass isnt discounted, but i received a mail claiming the Season Pass is on Sale.

I'd contact support directly so they can fix the mistake, and they'll probably process your order manually in the mean time.

The mail stated indeed that the expansion pass is on sale, but i am not so easily duped. I doubt that we will see it soon at a sale.

Meanwhile...where the frag are the promised upgrade options?! Because i am starting to regret that i did not get PoE on Steam
Is this the final DLC? I have been waiting to start this game until everything is released. :)

I'm guessing probably waiting behind 1200 GOG Galaxy features, or waiting for one or 10 of their open job postings to be fulfilled. :)

Just read a few of my posts / rants, couple of pages back. What's worse is GOG doesn't even say a word about it.
