Even Eternity must come to an end.

<span class="bold">Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part II</span>, the final chapter to the opening of the Pillars of Eternity saga that enthralled both RPG veterans and newcomers, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux. To celebrate the epic conclusion, Pillars of Eternity is discounted by 50% until February 19.

The second part of the expansion pack to the acclaimed RPG brings players back to the perilous, enchanting lands of Eora. The Watcher's dreams are invaded by visions of a terrible, bio-metallic army that marches unopposed on the Eastern Reach, wreaking havoc in its path. Speculations on The Eyeless' origins abound but no one knows for sure whence they came or why they seem so hell-bent on destroying everything in their path. What is not up for speculation is their menacing, statuesque appearance, befitting of the work of a god.

Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part II provides closure to story threads left unresolved at the end of Part I and also brings a new barbarian companion named Meneha to the party. Thanks to a new mode called "Story Time" players will have the chance to experience the game's story at a faster pace, plus the new Update 3.0, going live alongside The White March - Part II, includes a streamlined combat UI, updates to the Stronghold, and a number of other improvements and in-game features.

Gather your party and your remaining strength before you venture into <span class="bold">Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part II</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount on all editions of <span class="bold">Pillars of Eternity</span> will last until February 19, 3:59 PM GMT.
Time to dive back in. See you guys in like a bajillion hours.
Damn, I really need to finish BG2, IWD2 and ToEE so that I can get to PoE. Looks incredible
Nice. Now that PoE is technically complete will finally try it out. About how long before this new add on is adequately patched? Or by the time I get to it will they have patched it by then?

Also, any tips for beginners?

I think it's quite impressive that after eight years (well, seven and a bit, to be fair) you still haven't managed to fix the few lines of code translating the HTML from a newspost into proper forum code. It's been pointed out to you about a million times over the years, and each and every newspost still throws up during the transition to forum post. Well done, GOG :-)

Judging from the base game, you're probably fine to dive in right now. It was shockingly polished from the start, especially in light of the developer.
This looks amazing. I've wanted this game for a while, but I think I need to retife before I start it lol

This time it was just a pesky extra space which slipped past us, in fact :)
Any news on the announced 2016 update that's supposed to add some new content and improvements to the main game?

EDIT: Ah, apparantly it was released on GOG today as well? That's nice! I take it there's no need to further delay playing the game then? Anything after 3.0 will probably just be small changes, if there will be another update at all?

And yet GOG still doesn't provide a DLC upgrade path for non-Royal Edition owners. Good release but I ain't buying until GOG starts showing more than just empty words.

I'll quote GOG again, from their post of 26th March 2015:

If you bought the Hero Edition or Champion Edition, and you like the goodies included in the larger editions, all hope is not lost. We're currently working on making edition upgrades available for Pillars of Eternity . Stay tuned for future updates!
If you don't care about your customers, then I have no reason of supporting you any further.

Just one? I noticed that after you fixed it the first time, the last link was still broken ;-)

"Tanking" is very important, especially if you play a more "squishy" character. If YOU'RE the tank, make it your first priority to get in the face of the meanest looking enemy.

If an encounter is too hard, maybe you're not meant to be there / go back to it later. I (don't think?) there's enemy level scaling. So you might be able to get a bit further along roads than you "should" but if you wander too far off them... ;)

Stick with the game. It took a while to click for me (I'm an old veteran of cRPGs and this game is a perfect modern version - but for some reason I couldn't get into it right away) but when it did I was hooked. I would tell you the "Hours Played" in my most recent save... but that would be embarrassing ;)

Oh, and while I only rolled one character (my main) I later added in a party member I made (you can do this at inns starting early on - I didn't know this until a bit later in game!). Based on my NPCs, it seems like all classes are very playable so I'd say don't pick your PC on what you think your party will "need" pick a PC that you think will be fun to play. There are some really neat classes in this game!
Time to continue my save then.

Will probably still pick it up but seconding the long promised upgrade option that hasn't come...

What's the rush, it's not even a year since that announcement. /S
