Even Eternity must come to an end.

Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part II, the final chapter to the opening of the Pillars of Eternity saga that enthralled both RPG veterans and newcomers, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux. To celebrate the epic conclusion, Pillars of Eternity is discounted by 50% until February 19.

The second part of the expansion pack to the acclaimed RPG brings players back to the perilous, enchanting lands of Eora. The Watcher's dreams are invaded by visions of a terrible, bio-metallic army that marches unopposed on the Eastern Reach, wreaking havoc in its path. Speculations on The Eyeless' origins abound but no one knows for sure whence they came or why they seem so hell-bent on destroying everything in their path. What is not up for speculation is their menacing, statuesque appearance, befitting of the work of a god.

Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part II provides closure to story threads left unresolved at the end of Part I and also brings a new barbarian companion named Meneha to the party. Thanks to a new mode called "Story Time" players will have the chance to experience the game's story at a faster pace, plus the new Update 3.0, going live alongside The White March - Part II, includes a streamlined combat UI, updates to the Stronghold, and a number of other improvements and in-game features.

Gather your party and your remaining strength before you venture into Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part II, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount on all editions of Pillars of Eternity will last until February 19, 3:59 PM GMT.
I bought the expansion pass, everything showed up as expected in Galaxy. Color me a happy camper.

The temptation to play immediately is strong, but I think I'll wait until 3.03 or so until they have the new levels and content debugged.

Ixamyakxim: I was going to ask where to get this, as I hadn't received an Update Flag, but I noticed I DID have it in my GoG library. In the changelog, I'm pretty sure I saw something that would be activated in "3.00 Final" - any idea if this is still a beta patch? Should I wait a few days before slapping it on or am I good to go?
GOG doesn't have beta patches for non-in-dev games, so you should be good to go. Having said that, a patch that has such a huge changelog is bound to have some buggy spots that should be further uncovered during the next patches.

Grargar:
Awesome thanks much!

I went ahead and pulled it - I'm actually at the near-end game (I think? Act 3) so I might wait about a week or so to see if anything glaring shows up / is patched out. I've been on a short hiatus from the game (a week or two?) so a few more days won't hurt!

You know what - I haven't been wandering around on the forums nearly as much as I'd like the last week or two - so this could be the perfect excuse to get sucked back in LOL!

I'll go hunt down the thread now.
I see Ganni(19)87 made a thread on the Obsidian forum. Apparently the lack of upgrade paths is our fault:

http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/84255-missing-dlc-upgrade-paths-on-gogcom/?p=1775681

(Maybe they weren't told GOG had said this was being worked on?)
Why is it I don't get update notifications for games I want them on anymore (Witcher 3 and PoE) but I get them on games that ARE HIDDEN FROM MY LIBRARY?! WTF GoG? Why is your janky ass system so broken?
I so much want to play this game again but i need to hold off until i finish xcom 2 which is making me its bitch.
I want the game, but this is one of those games where I am unsure which edition I should get, which DLCs to buy etc. in order to make it complete, gaming content-wise. No need for soundtracks, making of videos, comic strips etc.

Maybe I'll still wait for some Gold edition or such.

What is this "missing DLCs" and "missing upgrade paths" that some complain about? Is it lacking gaming content, or those aforementioned fluff things?

The upper tier editions don't have any additional game content, it's just those things you mentioned, so I recommend the Hero edition. As for the DLCs, it's obviously more reasonable to buy the expansion pass as buying the two parts separately costs more.

Still, waiting for a Gold edition may not be awfully bad. :)

The Hero Edition and the Expansion Pass are all you need if you want Pillars of Eternity to be complete, in-game content-wise. The other two editions offer a soundtrack, artbook, documentary, etc.

I think I'll wait for the Gold Edition too. That should be in about three years' time then ... Nothing like gaming in the present, eh ?

I certainly don't wait for gold editions of games I like very much despite having a terribly huge "backlog", although I don't like using the term (makes it sound like chore which I hope gaming is not about).
Besides, it's not like games like this one are released every day. :)

If you want the game NOW that badly and you can afford it, then buy it. I want it too, but I have a strong disliking for Paradox Interactive - surely one of the greediest games companies of all time - so I will pass for now.
"the final chapter to the opening" Hmm, I just wonder how complete Pillars of Eternity is now. I could easily wait longer with the buying if there is more to come. Do anyone know if there has been an announcement of how much more to come?
