Nice release.
Anyone else get that Riddick movies imagery influence, like I did? Looks like an instabuy for me, as I love the XCOM games.

No. Or at least I didn't. Not until you pointed it out. Now I see it.
Phoenix point website says year one edition includes Original Soundtrack (Digital) and Digital Art: Book. It clearly doesn't.

On steam (boy I sure do love having to search steam to figure out if gog is lacking content), they have "Phoenix Point - Digital Extras", which includes wallpaper, art book, OST, bonus album etc.

Thanks gog for another incomplete game release. This is the part where people typically blame the developer, which I'm sure they share some blame, but this is a common theme on gog. Unless the developer includes extras with the base game, it's a 50/50 if the extras will come here because they don't curate them.
Seems like there's a pattern of negative reviews revolving around 'I'm an XCOM vet, so because this isn't exactly like XCOM I'm sad'.
Change (or deviation from the hardcore norm) is scary apparently.

Check the game folder for a folder called "Digital Extras" after downloading.

Waldschatten: I was waiting to grab this here as soon as it launched, then it went EGS exclusive, then I spent a year hearing nothing but complaints about it from everyone who made the mistake of buying it there.

Over the last year my excitement level went from "YAY!" to "meh..." and never came back up.
Same here, although I stopped following anything related to the game after learning about it being exclusive to one outlet.

Sorry, Jullian, that one year exclusivity deal with Epic was what in the birdpeople culture is described as "d*ck move". So I'll buy it when it's like 5EUR on a sale one day.
Early EPIC reviews said they game was not as good as X-com, did they fix any of the issues in the last year?

From what I can say according to updates on their website, they did a lot of work on it since the "Epic" release (pun intended).
This should be stable and playable game now. Already bought it, I am glad they released it here, but I am gonna wait with playing until the last 3 big DLCs would be released.

yep they did , it is getting better
I bought a copy, but won't play Phoenix Point until all of the expansions are released and polished. I tend to complete games only once, so I want my experience to be the best it can be. In any case, I voted with my wallet to encourage more GOG releases.
Anyone else preordering the game before the EGS release and had issues not getting updates from them? I had to contact support to get the EGS key back then as apparently I had been removed from their email list and the Xsolla store page stopped getting updates, I sent a new request for a GOG key three days ago but still haven't gotten any kind of reply.

No sorry, the process was almost entirely automated - I just had to select an email from about a month or two ago and select GOG as my preferred key.

I imagine they're just really busy at the moment and there might be delays with them going through emails now they've rolled to steam and GOG.
Made my the same people who did X-com? Cool.
So how does the game compare to the original Xcom?. Any hands on experience with the game?
