Maxvorstadt: Hmm, maybe I`ll buy this. I liked Imperium Galactica 2 very much, although I generally don`t like RTS games. :-)
That's one I'd definitely buy, replace my CD copy I have lying around here somewhere.

FYI, in the meantime you can check out open-ig, the open source re-implementation of Imperium Galactica 1. It is the complete game and works great!

Yeah, I know about that project and IG1 was ok, but IG2 was a true masterpiece imho.

Eminent Domain as video game? I only know and own a card board game with same name, which is, btw, much fun to play!
Is this a accident or have they both something to do with each other? Cardboard game inspired by the video game or vice versa?

Btw & fully off-topic: Is this an existing word in the english language: "Carport" ???

Yes it is, they're not as common as they used to be but you still see them around.

Haha alright! :D I thought it's another german pseudo-english word like "Handy" for "Mobile Phone" etc.

slackhacker: I played this a bit when it was new, still have the disc. I had much better luck with the 1.06 patch than the 1.072 patch. YMMV.

IIRC, the 1.072 patch was a beta patch, and only one programmer was working on it. The changelog even states that it was only "unofficially officially supported"; it contained numerous gameplay balancing changes and was fun to play, but I encountered a bug once where a space battle occurred but neither side attacked each other, they just sat motionless. I wound up just 'fleeing' that battle. I think the one programmer hinted on the official forums that they were working on a newer patch, but then silence - I assume sales weren't enough to justify continuing support.

This was a LOOOONG time ago, but this is as best as I can remember it. I don't recall very many crash-to-desktop bugs, but I remember that **for me**, the 1.06 patch was more stable, and I remember being slightly ticked that it became so hard to find after the 1.072 beta patch came out.

If 1.072 beta was my only choice, I still would have enjoyed the game. I usually play a custom race. Sometimes I get tired of staring at progress bars and waiting, but the game is still fun. Wishlisted just on principal. Still play it occasionally.

From the changelog for the 1.072 beta patch: >snip<

(edited: changed 'don't remember any crash to desktop' to 'don't remember very many'; added enjoyment comment)
We had better luck with the 1.072 patch than with the 1.06 patch on all of our systems :) In fact, it's thanks to the 1.072 patch that we can have working multiplayer in the game :)

Good luck getting a response from the devs (contact points are hard to find as well) - seems they are concentrating on pushing the game on mobile :(
