tinyE: Is there pause and play? :P

Boonatron: Yes you can enter commands while paused and the plus and minus keys vary the speed :-)
Knowing that makes it very tempting to get it now (even though I probably wouldn't play it for awhile - too many others lined up atm) versus just Wishlisting it.. Have to think on it.. :)
Nice. I like this. While the endgame inevitably devolved into a tedious grind where each and every enemy planet was fully fortified, and the only thing that kept you from facerolling the enemy were the mines, it was an entertaining title. I own it on CD, and i;ll put it on my wishlist.

Here's hoping that this is a prelude to an even bigger prize, Imperium Galactica 2!
Whoa, totally did not see this one coming! :O I'd figured I'd have to use a Mac emulator if I was to ever play PI2 again (assuming I could even find my game disc and that it remains readable). Awesome release!
avatar
graspee: It changed hands from Blizzard to THQ midway through development.
I remember there was a trailer for it on the Warcraft 2 disk!
is this one of those games made for win95? sounds like it might have compatibility issues, not just with win8.
Never heard of this one. Seems like you unearthed an hidden gem. Well done, GOG. :)
So, are you RTS fans out there finally happy? Can we get some rest on the point & click adventure games' release threads for a bit? I hope you'll LOVE this game and leave us alone for a while.

Then again, there's also the cRPG crowd, who seem to be as vocal as the strategy people, and a lot of people just like to complain for complaining's sake whenever a game is released.

I am indeed happy that you guys are getting a game you like, I just wished you didn't have to bash every single adventure game that gets released, because a lot of us do enjoy those kinds of games.

Happy gaming.

Well, I forgot my spiked club, so I`m sorry, I can`t bash on adventures right now! Just kidding.
If you like adventures, cool. But there are a lot of people who don`t like them, or who at least want some other games too!!!

That's understandable, but I don't think there's any need to go into *every single* adventure game release thread to whine and complain about the release of that game. I'm really happy you guys are getting a game of your liking, and I most definitely won't complain about this release -- variety is the spice of life --, all I'm saying is that it's really annoying when people who don't like adventure games (of any sort, but particularly point & clickers) feel the "need" to go to those threads with the single intent of complaining, when they aren't even planning on buying or playing the games.

I guess it must be frustrating when you are a fan of a certain genre and your digital store of choice doesn't release a game in that same genre very often, but that's not the fault of adventure fans, and that's certainly not the fault of the awesome adventure games that keep getting released. GOG users that like racing or sports games have it way worse than the sim/strategy or the cRPG crowd, and I don't see them complaining as much.

All I'm saying is that we should be happy for each other whenever a good game gets released, instead of egotistically complaining that "a lot of games in the x genre have been released lately, and I demand a game in the y genre to be released!"

Well, I don`t complain in every single release thread. I only made a thread where I complained about "toomany adventures". If there are people who go into every adventure release thread then I think it`s a bad way. It only destroys the fun for people who like adventures. I think this is like "I don`t get my toy, so I make sure that you don`t have fun with your toy!". This is childish.
Pax Imperia is a pretty good 4x game;but ,frankly, you have better options on GOG for 4X game swith Masters of Orion 1 and 2, Galactic Empires, Space Empire 4,and Star Wars Rebellion.

But I agree that I hope this is just a prelude for Imperiium Galactica II,one of the masterpieces of the genre.
BROTHER! IT'S BEEN TOO LONG.
One of my favorite games of all time, along with ImGal2. I was playing it a week ago before I bought Banished. Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain has real staying power.

I played this a bit when it was new, still have the disc. I had much better luck with the 1.06 patch than the 1.072 patch. YMMV.

IIRC, the 1.072 patch was a beta patch, and only one programmer was working on it. The changelog even states that it was only "unofficially officially supported"; it contained numerous gameplay balancing changes and was fun to play, but I encountered a bug once where a space battle occurred but neither side attacked each other, they just sat motionless. I wound up just 'fleeing' that battle. I think the one programmer hinted on the official forums that they were working on a newer patch, but then silence - I assume sales weren't enough to justify continuing support.

This was a LOOOONG time ago, but this is as best as I can remember it. I don't recall very many crash-to-desktop bugs, but I remember that **for me**, the 1.06 patch was more stable, and I remember being slightly ticked that it became so hard to find after the 1.072 beta patch came out.

If 1.072 beta was my only choice, I still would have enjoyed the game. I usually play a custom race. Sometimes I get tired of staring at progress bars and waiting, but the game is still fun. Wishlisted just on principal. Still play it occasionally.

From the changelog for the 1.072 beta patch: >snip<
