I still don't get it.
What is the fun in an VN? Isn't it better to watch a good Anime movie?
VN is not a game for me...if you only click for the next text without choice than....BORING!!!

Nope. A movie is 1-2 hours worth of content. Meanwhile a VN can have dozens up hours worth of story and your decisions can make the story turn in a different direction each time around. They're simply not comparable.

You're right. They aren't games. They are novels ... with visuals!

PS: you don't need to click for the next text because most have an auto read feature.

Mhhh to each his own.
There is some VNs with game mechanics but well generally it is a novel.

some VN,s have branching routes
and some Vn,s requires multiple playtrhoghs to get all the endings where choices you make have an impact on the ending you get
though it seams to me that multiple branches thing has somewhat getting less used in the vns nowadays

nor sure i this game here has choices or not

Multiple reviewers on Steam stated the story is rather lighthearted and only takes around 7 hours to read through.
I like the art style, might give the game a go, wishlisted for now.

Nah, this one is all kinetic according to VNDB.

Should not be a problem when the premise and setting are so interesting. (in my opinion)
Wishlisted for now.

Yay, can we have even more anime? How about we dump the entire GoG catalog and just shove as much anime in it as possible? I mean, we are already heading that direction anyway so why not?

Thanks. I'd rather play Pachisi, over a kinetic visual novel which is just a digitally flavored version of Pinocchio.

But hey, thanks to the screenshot monkey for going out of their way to not actually show how the novel portion of this "experience" is presented.

On one hand, there are good anime games that GOG could peruse, but on the other hand they require DOS/V support; which I dunno if DOSbox staging can handle or not.

No and I have told you that several times. If you're looking for many of those older DOS VN's to ever pop up on this or ANY site, you are wasting your time. Many DOS VN's lost their copyright licenses years ago and are now playable legally in your browser through the internet archive. Now I know that internet archive has a lot of things today that are probably not legal, but these browser based versions of the DOS classics you refer to are definitely legal. So yes, you are free to play many in your browser now and it would be a waste of GOG's time to release what you can just now play online for free.

It is called The Asenheim Project and you can check it out here: https://tss.asenheim.org/

GOG's partner, Jast also did something cool, they allowed people to play their classics in a browser. Just five games. The links still work, but the landing page has been removed. Someone posted the links on Twitter. Here you go, classic eroge goodness:

https://retro.jastusa.com/transfer-student/
https://retro.jastusa.com/season-of-the-sakura/
https://retro.jastusa.com/three-sisters-story/
https://retro.jastusa.com/runaway-city/
https://retro.jastusa.com/may-club/

All of them feature "The Asenheim Project" at the bottom, so that's interesting. Yes, just click on each if you want to play. If GOG removes the links, DM me and I'll send them to you. Enjoy!

@all
Yes, in some VN you can make 1 or even 2 decisions (sometimes even more) but that's not a game....and don't forget that most of those decisions don't have a lasting impact on the game.
Heck, back in the 80's I read most of Jacksons Fighting Fantasy books....and they were more fun to read than almost every VN I know (hey, and I have a few hundrets on my shelf).

Also I find it funny how asocial the GoG forum is....there is someone with an opinion you don't like...downvote him...shows how mature those losers are.

They're interactive novels with graphics. Although saying that, the absolute best interactive novel that I have played is Creatures Such as We, which has zero graphics and zero music. Considering that this game is on Steam, it's extremely unfortunate that it's not here on GOG.

Community Wishlist: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/creatures_such_as_we

Even when there is graphics, the appeal of them is a story where you can control the protagonist's choices.
Thank you for the release! Really nice to have this one DRM-free. Will pick it up soon.
