(Re)turn of the King

Overfall, a roguelike RPG overflowing with unpredictable challenges and emergent story elements, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

Two heroes begin a desperate search for a lost king. Their mission? To activate the beacons resting on the islands populated by all the known races of this vast archipelago. Every NPC they recruit could mean the difference between the mission's success or failure, and offer a new approach to the challenges of the journey. They have to outmaneuver their opponents with smart turn-based moves and tactical choices, constantly keeping an eye out for the dynamic world changes that threaten to derail their epic quest. But even if they manage to escape permadeath and finish their mission, this is hardly the end of the road. The built-in Story Builder will compel you to come up with your own intriguing tales, outshining even those of your guide Chris Avellone, the ultimate word-chef.

Navigate a treacherous sea of diverse races and possibilities as you struggle to overcome Overfall. The 10% launch discount will last until May 31, 4:59 PM UTC.
New one to me, sounds like it has potential though.

EDIT: Ah, the big-headed character sprites are familiar. I did see this one before, it was making the rounds on KS. Didn't back it there, but nice to have a chance to pick it up in final. Depending on how the reviews come back. :)

Roguelike? RPG? Emergent?

Tell me more about this highly inventive thing.

It has permadeath. Consider your mind blown.
Backed this one on Kickstarter, but haven't yet received a copy of the game. Kind of glad, as I'm hoping the developers will be offering GOG keys and not just Steam.
Hmm, looks and sounds interesting, I'll add it to my ever growing wishlist.
The backgrounds look alright, but the characters are very unappealing to me. The art style reeks of mobile and/or browser games. Not saying the game itself is like a mobile or browser game, but the art style is extremely off-putting for me. It looks "cheap" somehow, and again is just very unappealing. Definitely passing on this one, at least for now, though to be fair I don't think it would really be my kind of game anyway.

EDIT: Looking at the trailer, this all seems to apply to the animations as well, in addition to other things.

They should do. The KS projects I've backed which explicitly offer a DRM-key and then which come to GOG have so far all given me keys here. Your best bet is to contact them directly and request a GOG key. Make sure they know that GOG provides them without charge to developers.
Oh, this isn't about Poland and Germany. *scnr*
Thanks Judas. On the day you were supposed to release Oblivion and Fallout you release a game called OverFALL. ;)
Jeez, will the flood of those "roguelike" games never stop? :D

I won't even bother looking if a game is tagged with it.

It has a unique feature not seen anywhere else: "procedural world generation".
It is also "inspired by".

You're joking, but they might actually do this. Probably not as part of a major sale, but as one of the two weekly promos.
