(Re)turn of the King

Overfall, a roguelike RPG overflowing with unpredictable challenges and emergent story elements, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

Two heroes begin a desperate search for a lost king. Their mission? To activate the beacons resting on the islands populated by all the known races of this vast archipelago. Every NPC they recruit could mean the difference between the mission's success or failure, and offer a new approach to the challenges of the journey. They have to outmaneuver their opponents with smart turn-based moves and tactical choices, constantly keeping an eye out for the dynamic world changes that threaten to derail their epic quest. But even if they manage to escape permadeath and finish their mission, this is hardly the end of the road. The built-in Story Builder will compel you to come up with your own intriguing tales, outshining even those of your guide Chris Avellone, the ultimate word-chef.

Navigate a treacherous sea of diverse races and possibilities as you struggle to overcome Overfall. The 10% launch discount will last until May 31, 4:59 PM UTC.
A day without a rougelike is a day wasted

HypersomniacLive: I'm surprised you even have to ask which one falls short.

IAmSinistar: Did it fall through the cracks? Or are you making me out to be the fall guy for not spotting it?
These puns are starting to become awfall.

But have they reached Epic Fall status yet?

mattymuc: All except of SKYSHINE'S BEDLAM and WINGS...
And Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. I didn't get a GOG key for that one.

Soon, and then we shall fall afoul of the fallout of our fallacious fallacies.
Another backer hoping for a GOG key over here.
As I write this it has only been about 2 hours since the release of this title, and it already has 5 votes with a 3.5 rating (no reviews). I have seen this on other newly released titles lately.

Who is making these ratings?

It really makes me wonder if these are legitimate. Ratings with no reviews within 2 hours?

I know they exist, but I don't know. It makes an initial release of a game look wrong.

I will wait to see a possible release stream, but I was wondering.

Impaler26: Jeez, will the flood of those "roguelike" games never stop? :D

I won't even bother looking if a game is tagged with it.
As a huge fan of rogue-likes I'm glad these games keep coming out. Even at work, I play 'Pixel Dungeon' on my phone which is an awesome rogue-like. I'm not without thresholds however either, poorly made or buggy ones have no place in my book. This one though seems to be well made and with significant amount of content.

I personally like the idea that it's always a different game and permadeath is a fun challenge.

blkhouse: Who is making these ratings?
Hmmm... There aren't any transgender personalities in Overfall, are there?

Honestly, I don't know, but wonder, too. Six moderate to bad votes and no text. Maybe the game is bad? Doesn't work? Has bugs? A proper unbiased review would be nice, as I am quite interested. The reviews on Steam are good, though.

"Unbiased" is the problem nowadays, I fear. People tend to lose the ability to look and judge things from a neutral position.

Sounds like you're falling by the wayside.
Rather mediocre ratings up till now. What's the deal?

Rather mediocre game?
Hmmm, maybe...odd one for sure.
The good of the game:

listprice : 14.99 regional so we get some euros in store credit
1.80 OFF ANY FUTURE PURCHASE. You get bonus store credit (our Fair Price Package) to offset the regional pricing.

The bad (for me) looks vector, looks like zooming and many light effects...
plus you need a modern screen (no ctx 17inch 1024x768 i'm afraid)

good specs, even at recommended you dont need a motherboard with cpu, looks like any circuitboard with some old light bulbs will do

(copied recommended from steam page)
i miss the mobo info with its specs ???

Recommended:
OS: Windows 7+
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Open GL 3.2+ Compliant
DirectX: Version 9.0
Storage: 2500 MB available space
Sound Card: Windows Compatible Card
Additional Notes: 1080p, 16:9 recommended
i made a screenshot of the product name and one of the system requirements ,copied and pasted them together on 1 image (check attachment) seems any mobo will do.

Anyway the game itself looks okay but by looking at the videos it doesnt seem to play like good old Braveland (i have all 3 games)
