Melvinica: It was already 50% off on Epic so 10% off after one year is not really that enticing.
Seems fair, 40% extra discou8nt is reasonable to suffer any forced store client.
20% extra discount as apology for not getting an offline installer,
20% extra discount as apology for forcing you to use any store client.
Depends why you want to get games on GOG, and those two things are worth paying for, but actually it will have been Epic will have taken the hit of the extra 40%, knowing GOG release was coming, so looks like they think GOG's features are worth that extra money as well.
Though Epic having no built in Store DRM, makes it better than any other forced client, it's exclusive policies don't.
Unlike most Steam Fanboys, I see little difference between Epic paying for exclusives, and Steam leveraging it's huge install base to get far more exclusives than Epic ever will, and having the gall to charge a $100 fee to give Steam an exclusive.
Having seen 1000s of games on Steam that never come to GOG, and 1000s more that only get here after arbitrary time periods, from a few weeks, to many years, it amazes me how Steam fans complain when they get told a set time period, and even then we don't get the game here.
Metro series being Typical, it took 7 years, and a THQ Nordic buyout to even get Metro 2033, and Last Light on GOG, and now we have to suffer "No plans to bring Metro Exodus to GOG statements, after Epic's 12 months is over.
I hate exclusives, more than the Steam idiots that only hate them when they are not the ones getting them.
Steam, even makes their Workshop mods exclusives
