Of Light and Darkness: The Prophecy, a first-person adventure with unique aesthetics and layered narrative is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

All around you are the ghosts of sinners. Some are guilty of giving in to their overpowering lust, others may have bloodied their hands with the untimely deaths of innocent people. You must redeem all of them and in doing so avert an upcoming Armageddon that threatens to consume the world at the turn of the millennium. But even though you're the so-called Chosen One, the spirits will not easily comply to your whims. After deducing the sin of which they are guilty, you must locate their signature item, find the appropriate room, and then lure them there for their final redemption. It's going to be a hypnotic journey, filled with formidable puzzles, bizarre but stunning environments, emotional moments, and enigmatic encounters.

Find beauty in the human sin as you lose yourself inside the fascinating world of Of Light and Darkness: The Prophecy, DRM-free on GOG.com.
One of those games nobody needs.
Search for items in rooms and use them in other rooms...you have only a short time left.
So memorize every level...and you can use the practise mode for that.
I first thought The Prophecy...yeahh...but this can rot in hell.
3.5 months have passed now since Interplay announced that they are looking for buyers of their catalog. A month later, there is a this company search, Interplay either changed the phone number in January 2016 or turned it off. They might have made a deal with altered conditions to finance the compatibility work (e.g. more revenue for GOG if they carried the burden of the costs).
I had this game on a disc but never really understood what I had to do, even after consulting some kind of walkthrough. Certainly an odd one.
Al last GOG remembers that O stand for Old (games).
We need more old releases!

It doesn't. Not since 2012 at least.
As for old games, more are coming.

igrok: For a moment I thought The Prophecy was released. Anyway, this seems like a Windows-based game, so it's unclear whether it can run well under linux with wine.
So...anyone willing to gamble their $5.99 to see if it'll work on WINE? This game isn't listed on the WineHQ AppDB, and it's so obscure it doesn't have a Wikipedia entry.
I happen to have the strategy guide for Of Light and Darkness and am very glad to see this release here on GOG. It's an interesting game that is worth playing through at least once, although I agree that it's a bit convoluted and hard initially to get a grasp on what you are supposed to do.

I very much hope to see more good OLD games in the future - the more, the better!
Don't think I've heard of it before. The storyline sounds interesting, so wishlisted for now.
Have to wonder about something - from the game page [emphasis added]:
Apocalyptic, lightning-fast real-time adventure with dramatic multiple endings
Does this mean the events are timed? If yes, what happens if one doesn't make it in time? Start all over or just from the beginning of a specific event?

This is not the manual, right? You might want to consider contacting GOG, and see if they could get a scanned copy of it to include with the game.

Is this what you're really trying to say? :)

If I recall correctly, you start over from the beginning of a specific event. There is also a way to buy yourself more time.

The strategy guide is pretty hefty, and I doubt that GOG would be willing to make it a download. It's one of those big Prima strategy guides.
Funny, I was looking at this the other day for the first time in years, and now it pops up here.

This was from the days when games had REAL manuals titled "The Book of the Damned", with ~10 pages of how to play the game, and then 40 pages of strange journal entries, and tales of death and horror throughout history.

Does anybody know if this version has subtitles? (English)

I watched a part of the Longplay and haven't seen any text.
It seems that it is important to understand the narration.
I'm afraid my old ears will be overwhelmed. :(

I just finished a quick test on the game in Wine Staging 2.0-rc2:

The game works quite well although the interface may take time getting used to as you change your orientation by moving the mouse around and it can move somewhat quickly. Still, everything seems to work so far, including saving the game.

Unless time ceases to pass, it's a safe bet that more old games are coming :)
