Board your ship and enjoy this unique strategy game based on Norse mythology. Northgard is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM. Take control of a clan of Vikings vying for the control of a mysterious newfound continent. Gather resources, build your army, and crush all foes on your way during 11 campaign chapters.

Until 27th May, 1 PM UTC, Northgard and its DLCs are available on GOG.COM with discounts reaching up to 50%.
Okay, it says Viking RTS. Is the gameplay style similar to some other famous RTS series like AoE or Command & Conquer?
Yay, it's finally here! I'm glad I haven't picked it up on Steam, I was tempted by it so much in the past :) Picking it up obviously, but shouldn't there be a separate bundle entry, for the base game and all DLCs as 'The Viking Age Edition'?

Very interesting zone control RTS. Also quite challenging on higher difficulties for those with slower reaction times. Different clans really do offer different approach to how you (should) play so trying them all out is an adventure of its own.

For me it seems more like the Settlers or Knights and Merchants.
No complete version? Seems like have to wait until Northgard 2, just to be sure there won't be any Paradox pulled

Settlers was my fist reaction as well, even though I never played those games.
Watched gameplay, it seems more like city builder than an RTS.
Crikey that took a long time to get here!
Looks nice!

Before buying it though, since there are enough DLCs already, is this game complete or there are more DLCs coming?

In case of more DLCs coming, I prefer to wait for whenever the game will be complete.

So no pause to assess and issue orders then?
It looks quite nice, but the whole DLC / modular thing puts me off.
Is there a random map mode in singe-player, or is it campaign only?
Very nice! Looks like Age of Empires with Vikings.

Why so many DLCs though? How much content does each one add?

Also, I second the question: is the game already complete or will there be even more DLC?

Same for me^^

I've had it on my Steam wishlist for quite some time now but resisted the urge to buy several times, hoping it would eventually come to GOG :D

I had a quick look at the game and for me all of these questions are already answered. They use the DLCs to finance the continued development of the game. Each DLC adds a new clan with their unique mechanic and, according to their own claims, the base game gets extended by free updates every time a DLC releases. Sounds very reasonable to me.

So, unless they decided that the game is dead now, more clans are probably on the way.

The launch discount plus the "put everything in the basket"-discount looks reasonable for a Complete So Far edition.

Looks like I'll have to do a bit of research, but it looks like something I might enjoy...
