UPDATE: The first No Man's Sky update is now out!
It's a much-awaited bundle of fixes, as well as compatibility and performance improvements and you can grab it now via GOG Galaxy auto-updates, or with the newest offline installers.

<span class="bold">No Man's Sky</span> a massive science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Note that the game takes place in one persistent PC universe, shared across GOG and Steam.

In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid, those with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as any of us are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — gradually getting catalogued by explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.

The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means to stand your ground in a fight. Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal the greatest mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

Calibrate your suits for extreme insomnia, reach out and touch the <span class="bold">No Man's Sky</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com!

This update fixes Intel chips with no SSE4.1 as well. Haven't seen this officially mentioned anywhere, but I can confirm that it does.

Thanks for this Judas, now I can stop using these hacks as I had to upto now. If they have fixed the framerate issue I will be very happy indeed. I think between GOG and Steam, they have both done their best to get the patches out, so well done to both. Also well done to the community out there for properly identifying the issues and even coming up with workarounds to get the game to run. :)
This is cool that theres an update...but id like to see what they actually fixed.

Wishbone: Yeah, well I work with big enterprise server solutions, and I have to deploy the changes myself, so I vastly prefer to just redeploy the assemblies that have actually changed.
Many of the apps I work on at the NGO that employs me are web-centric, so I can thankfully use simply Git pushes and update scripts to handle the changes. For code changes I like doing the whole class file at minimum, rather that writing a routine that patches lines in place. I never quite feel secure with those, like there is inevitably some cruft from the old code still lurking and causing problems. Clean builds make for peace of mind. :)

micktiegs_8: My favourite ones are the gameplay trailers still over at Steam. Massive fleets of ships. Faction battles with said fleets. Multiple wingmen to help you do space things, and even fly on planets with you.
Basically the space shit went barebones.
"Hmm. Actually, the chances for such events to happen are infinitesimal, so there's almost no way you'll ever experience one of them; I can assure you they're in the game, though.

is for anybody else it works with sub par video card like NVIDIA GT730?
it works fine for me with performance settings both in control panel and in game with 800*600 but i didn't tested yet at 1024*768. I also had no bugs from launch till now
And can somebody tell me how to enable FPS counter on screen?

Edit it works fine at 1024 without antialiasing with mine NON-GTX Nvidia GT730
What means these symbols under quantity of element/item?

I have another question regarding the recent change to the min. systems reqs, in relation to support/refunds:

Processor: from "core i3" to "intel core i3"
"Requires openGL 4.5"

My system has:
Processor - phenom 2 x6
card: gtx 960 . the hardware supports 4.4 openGL, listed on the manufacter infocard, but the driver reports 4.5 support

Now i've read that plenty of phenom 2 users are able to play with the latest patch, and older gtx cards aswell, but does gog consider my processor and card to meet the min specs for this game? or only intel processors qualify, since no amd chip is listed? Since one of the requirements to be eligible for a refund is to meet the min. specs, would be funny to get a tap in the back and a "sorry we cant issue a refund because your system doesn't meet the min. reqs. for the game", if the game ended up not running.

Regardless, this launch has been an eye opener regarding new game releases for the future.

Just like they can assure me there is multiplayer? I can believe I bought into the hype of this lie of a game.

Well well well, the weekend is saved! Finally ... thanks GOG and Hello Games.

I can confirm the game now works absolutely fluent on max detail (resolution 1680x1050) with my system:
AMD Phenom 2 X4 955@3,2 GHz (standard core)
AMD Fury Nano 4 GB (HBM)
6 GB DDR2 800 RAM
480 GB SSD

Just like it was to be expected as this is more than the minimum performance of an i3 which was listed as requirement.
My first warp was to a system someone else had discovered... the odds...
Yes, the last patch finally fixed it for me as well (AMD Phenom II).
No real bugs so far, only the ground seems to flicker from time to time. But overall I had no problems, no crash, no significant drop in framerate (just in the intro, which is probably due to loading).
Only graphics setting I changed was the max. framerate (from 30 to 60). So the game runs on medium settings @1920x1080 (Nvidia GTX 560 Ti, 8GB RAM).

My weekend is all booked :-)
