UPDATE: The first No Man's Sky update is now out!
It's a much-awaited bundle of fixes, as well as compatibility and performance improvements and you can grab it now via GOG Galaxy auto-updates, or with the newest offline installers.

No Man's Sky a massive science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Note that the game takes place in one persistent PC universe, shared across GOG and Steam.

In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid, those with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as any of us are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — gradually getting catalogued by explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.

The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means to stand your ground in a fight. Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal the greatest mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

Calibrate your suits for extreme insomnia, reach out and touch the No Man's Sky, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Or just a drug addict nobody making game reviews with IQ below 10 to satisify the morons with computers that can not handle the game?

And that's it. For 60 fucking dollars!

I'd rather watch this guy than play this boring, piece-of-shit game, that is never going to be properly optimized because the idiot fucking devs don't know how to properly make a game, and probably don't care. This guy is funny, he's entertaining, and he isn't charging 60 fucking dollars. He wins. Hands down. And he's spot on about the gaming industry in general.

Thank you, Antoni_Fox.

I've noticed a lot of youtube gamers have stopped doing LPs of it. They're slowly just moving on to other games... already. At least Mack speaks his mind.

This Lets Play culture has become a garbage heap of boot lickers and 'Me 2!' types. You really have to dig deep to find the honest ones who offer any kind of intelligent thought, insight, or debate. How anyone can find value in shooting rocks for endless hours. It staggers the mind.

It truly does. And I really don't think it can get that much worse because we're almost to the point that a nuclear holocaust would be a blessing.
Hopefully some good news

Steam has got a new experimental update 30 minutes ago and so far a lot of people are reporting that it is now working on AMD CPU's.

Again this is experimental patch and not a official patch but things are looking up.

Hopefully it will get made official and they can get it to GOG quickly. But I wouldn't hold my breath either GOG seem to be a poor cousin at the moment.

GOG has said they are trying to have the experiment patch up via Galaxy by the end of today. The branch is currently available but not the patch itself.
Do you have to have GOG galaxy to buy this , can it be bought and updated without galaxy ?

From what I understand, you have to use Galaxy for the online features. If you're just doing offline single player, then I believe you won't need Galaxy, even for updates.

I'm only new to GOG so can't be 100% sure but I think you can.

In saying that if you have a AMD CPU you probably won't be able to run it at the moment. I would wait for a week or so just to be sure it is patched to a working version for AMD CPU's.

Also without GOG Galaxy you will be playing offline which means you will not see other peoples discoveries (N.B Online you won't see other players avatars either only their discoveries.)

Hope this helps

I thought that multiplayer had been cancelled in No Man's Sky?

The whole thing is single player online OR offline afaik.

The games needs major work and added content to justify the 60$ pricetag.
It lacks some very fundamental and important features, like a planetary map for example.

It think it's quite fun, but absolutely not worth the pricetag.

Your probably right but at least you can run it. All I have seen is the Hello game splash screen and then crash.
YouTube is the closest I've been to gameplay. Damn Frustrating
