UPDATE: The first No Man's Sky update is now out!
It's a much-awaited bundle of fixes, as well as compatibility and performance improvements and you can grab it now via GOG Galaxy auto-updates, or with the newest offline installers.

No Man's Sky a massive science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Note that the game takes place in one persistent PC universe, shared across GOG and Steam.

In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid, those with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as any of us are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — gradually getting catalogued by explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.

The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means to stand your ground in a fight. Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal the greatest mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

Calibrate your suits for extreme insomnia, reach out and touch the No Man's Sky, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Fudgehog: Downloading now! The wait is over!

Bouchart: Well, you have to wait for it to finish downloading....
It's a pretty small installer though. Yay for procedural generation!

wizisi2k: funny. Did you get a confirmation e-mail from GOG saying the DLC was free? it would've looked like a regular GOG recepit. I got mine a day or 2 ago.
Nah, I just got a regular confirmation mail for the game itself. Nothing else.

Yes, it was worth it. :-)
And here, i got "initialise" loop on white screen just after "no man's sky" sign
I stayed up until 3am local time in order to install and play this as soon as i possibly could... Currently, any time i try to open the game, it stops working immediately. All i have seen of the game so far is the Hello Games logo.

Pheace: Reddit review thread might be helpful:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/4x921r/no_mans_sky_review_thread_in_progress/

Most the comments so far seem to come down to "It's just not a $60 game"
That's what I have been thinking all this time. It looks nice, with todays technology it will probably be better than frontier / first encounters, but I can't see myself spending enough hours with it to justify the cost. Price-wise it's comparable to Witcher 3 including expansions (at launch!), that's pretty high bar for content.
The game barely released and there are "reviews" already on the game page...

I have this same problem.

Edit: holding E on keyboard worked. I am assuming it was not actually a crash. This answer that helped me was found on Reddit

Jim Sterling called it mediocre (please note that Jim actually uses the entire 1-10 scale, not 7-10 like most other reviewers), and got DDOSed for his trouble. I was fairly excited for it (though that price... ouch!), but some of the things he talked about in the review just turned me right off, so I probably won't be getting it.
How can i switch the language? it start in english. gog downloader say i can switch ingame. but how?
