Better get ready – Nie No Hakoniwa - Dollhouse of Offerings is now out GOG, alongside its Soundtrack and in a Bundle!

A long time ago, an outlander appeared before the village of a long-suffering minority. In his possession was a mysterious "box" which was used by the oppressed to rise up and overthrow their oppressors.

Years later, that oppressed group formed seven noble houses and grew prosperous. However, House Shiki, which stood first among the Seven Noble Houses did not have a son to succeed the family. In order to have an heir, a young man from outside the village was adopted in to the family.

Now on GOG!

Good to see Sexy Fridays are back...WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOD!

Nie No Hakinawa is a guro novel, so prepare yourself. It has scenes of very explicit gore. But there's also a filter built in for that. The game is considered horror and yes, there are some sexual scenes. But then again, there's a lot of not so sexy scenes here as well.

Great! a new Sekai Project title!!

I wish if we also got to know if this is censored or not, or if it's actually censored, will we get a patch to remove it or we gotta crawl other websites to snatch a uncensored patch.

Their policy is a bit all over the place actually. Some are just uncensored. Some are censored, but have a patch available on gog separately (usually free, but not always). And some require getting the patch on some third party website.

I'm guess it is probably up to the game devs and that is possibly why it is to inconsistent.

A bit on the fence on this one. Really like the premise and I love a good horror story (even some of the more disturbing stuff), but after playing Dead End Aegis, it made me realize that some Japanese games are really hardcore and they will really go backward to disturb even jaded horror fans. This one seems like it might be one of those.

Might wait for a discount.

there's not a definitive answer, sometimes the patch goes straight to your downloads hassle free after you purchase the game, so you'll be good to go
other times the patch comes separately(free of charge) that you have to add it to your cart and confirm the purchase, but unfortunately for titles like 'Alternate Dimantion Diary' I can't even add the patch to my cart to begin with, so I end up going to other stores.

Finally, a decent VN.... that's super brutal. x') Even for me - someone who loved Dead End Aegis' disturbing story.

I also would like to know if this is the 18+ version or not? Since it lists Sekai Project as the publisher, not Denpasoft.
I'd personally check, but my wallet was decimated after the last few sales, so it'll take me a while.

Fun fact: this title comes from the studio that made the infamous fluffy-moe-nukige series called Nekopara.
While the studio creator didn't personally write this one (at least, I don't think she did), she was the producer, art director, and colorist.

Never played Japanese horror(+sex?) VN game. Don't care for disturbing scenes, watched a good bunch of Japanese horror, sex and horror+sex movies. (BTW, huge fan of old Japanese movies)
Would you recommend this or other (preferably GoG's) game to explore the genre for the first time? Youtube lists only censored playthroughs so I have no idea of the level of disturbness prev. posters talked about which (of course) peaked my interest.

I second that. Despite 2 disturbingly intimately rendered rape scenes, I thoroughly enjoyed Song of Saya.

That was the game that made me want to play other games in that genre...

And then... Dead End Aegis was next which felt like one long rape tale, intersected here and there by some other stuff, but that was usually just so that they could wham you harder with the next rape scene that would often push it one notch further (especially with one of the two branches you get to pick) and that made me realize perhaps I don't actually want to play every game in that genre.

Whoa! A welcome surprise indeed! Many Thanks to GOG
and Sekai Project for bringing this gem of a Visual Novel here!


If you enjoy reading/playing Kara No Shoujo, (The Shell) Saya No Uto, Gore Screaming Show, and Dead End Aegis. Then you’ll definitely like Nie no Hakoniwa with exceptional art! and the time period of the game is somehow similar to Kara No Shoujo. It's a disturbing VN and not for the faint of heart!



If Sekai Project is seeing this, please bring Re;Lord 3 here on GOG so we can finally complete the third and last part of the game, both Re;Lord 1 and 2 are already here. And the Nekopara series too! And some feng VNs too if at all possible!


And Is this the 18+ uncensored version or do we need to apply a patch to enable the adult content therein?
