Play it again, Geralt!

The final piece of The Witcher 3 16 FREE DLC program is now available. It was an awesome ride full of fun surprises and additions to the game, and it's about to go out with a bang!

By far the most highly requested addition to the game: New Game+ is here.
Starting today, you never ever have to say goodbye to Geralt of Rivia and the gang, and a whole new world of high-level loot and enemies awaits to truly bring out The Witcher in you. If you feel like you strolled through the game for the story before, this is your chance to turn up the difficulty, stock up on potions, memorise your signs, plan your attacks, and really feel the constant pressure of a monster hunter's daily "routine". If you can call it that.

With last week's update introducing Mod Support for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - the possibilities for your next playthrough are just about endless.

INSTALLING THE FREE CONTENT:

Here is how you can grab and install your new DLC in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Add the 16 FREE DLC Program to your account from its product page. It's like buying a game, but free.

A) If you're using GOG Galaxy:

--Select The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from the sidebar to open its game page.
--Click on the drop-down labeled "More", (located next to the PLAY button) and choose "Configure".
--The Configure page will feature all available DLCs listed towards the bottom.
--Select each DLC that you want to install, and GOG Galaxy will do the rest. If you want to remove the DLC from your game, simply uncheck the selection box.

B) If you're using the website:

You can download installers for each DLC pack manually. Simply head to the Library section of My Account, locate The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and download the files you want. Afterwards, run each one as if you were installing a game or patch.

skeletonbow: Just FYI, here I'm seeing that the new DLC is not available in Galaxy for download backup, nor to configure through Galaxy for the installed game. Assumption is that the servers are melting.
avatar
stg83: Sometimes it takes a while to show up, try closing and reopening Galaxy. It should be there as I just downloaded it from Galaxy right now.
avatar
radikell: Iam at my wits end here. Any suggestions would be helpful.
avatar
stg83: Did you try going to MORE->MANAGE->VERIFY/REPAIR option? it usually helps in fixing any download errors for the installation via Galaxy.
Yup! That just throws up a 'Server Error' warning. DLC's dont download, updates dont download....!!!
Tried game re-install...nothing.
Tried GoG re-install...nothing.

Now trying to clean-up registry, and check.....
avatar
Wurzelkraft: How about a complete installer with all free DLCs now? :) I'd like that a lot.
avatar
Karboxyd: Since we're on the subject of wishes regarding the DLCs, I could also have them tucked inside the actual directory of the game, rather than having them DLCs at the root of the GOG download directory as if they belong to no one (it's a bit disgraceful to have directories named dlc1, dlc2, dlc3 (...) there).

There's also the matter of the DLCs that have a number, but download themselves to a directory with a *different* number, but let's not get to greedy... after all the 3 of us using it should be happy that the GOG Downloader is still allowed to exist, even though nobody at gog.com seems to care about it anymore ("You can choose between Galaxy and the GOG Downloader, happy times ! Just know that we'll make it a PITA for you if you dare to use the latter instead of the former").

Ah well, sorry folks, I had to let it out, at some point.
Agree 100%, and I guess I am one of the 3 you speak of (or maybe a secret 4th) that still uses the gog downloader. I may install galaxy some day, but i would still use the gog d/ler to download installers I can back up to an external drive. With 744 gog games, it is a hefty backup and my preferred method. Oh, and the folder naming thing and mismatched numbers drives me nuts for the dlc lol. I just move them to the main W3 directory after they d/l. I wish they still had gog d/ler links *right on the main library game or still tied to the hyperlinks on the game drop down* versus this go to a list page from a long list of link options. :D

Hmm...that is real unfortunate, not sure what it could be as you can download the game but not the updates via Galaxy. As an alternate you can download the offline installers directly from the website via your browser or a download manager by going to Account>Library section and then clicking on the game.
So awesome. My main Geralt can finally start his journey all over.

Thing is, since GoG is acting up, will it screw around with any further achievements i may earn in-game? I dont wish to play any further if that is the case.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I can't say with absolute certainty but even when you install the game by using the offline installers it is still automatically detected by Galaxy when you open it, so I don't think it should have any impact on further achievements.

I tried running the offline installers, but now, it says i have insufficient disk space!!!...when i have 50GB left.
I have pointed GoG to folders i created in my drive to prevent defaulting to C:, but still...not even the small DLC installers work(insufficient space), let alone the updates.

Ah I see, another user was having a similar issue because even when you change the download path there has to be enough space on your C: drive for the temporary files that are created during installation. Have a look at the following threads for some more info regarding this issue.

Carighan: "Game not completed on this save"

That's even after loading my post-ending checkpoint where I get the "Alright, you can continue from here"-popup, then manually saving again and trying to use that.
I have the same problem!!!!!! Got a fix on that?

edit: Just found out that you can only use the saves you make after you install New Game+.
I went back to the checkpoint of completing the game, manually saved it and from there it works but downside is that all the progress I made after completing the game is gone!

fortune_p_dawg: Just a quick heads up! New DLC file is named wrong... It is "dlc15" in the file name rather than "dlc16."
Thanks, couldn't find it. Incompetent fucks.

Maybe if they add enough swords, hair styles, horse decorations and new 3D models of barrels, I can fill a few more rows of installed programs. And the downloads are not even numbered in the account library? What is this?!
Brilliant, now only to wait two expensions and possible (Enhanced edition), then I am ready for next incredible experience!...
Great great great! Thanks, thanks, thanks! Much appreciated! Now that all DLCs are released, it was time i got through the game, at long last! And just in time, i only need 1-2 days to finish darksiders 2 in its own new game plus!
