Gudadantza: The same the forum you are writing in; pass and look for something better and more understable.
It's a difference whether you read and write in a forum or hear spoken language (dialects!) or read subtitles under time pressure. Giving feedback is fair, whether language options or other game related stuff.

The need to complain about the lack of french or spanish or basque or polish in an international english focused forum is just pointless.

I want every language in every game but I consider infantile and pointless the message of this guy in this forum and believe me, nobody is going to to give me any lesson about what or how it have to be in that regard.
To me if it were a game created in EU there should be a law to adapt every language in the Union.
But this is a low resouce american created expansion. Not a drama.

Only English and I pass? What a limited videogame life some people have. Anyways what I am critizying is that what this guy says sounds to me too artificial and false and unnecessary. Period.

Hi all from Belgium,

Seems very interesting.

It is an official extansion or it is a "fan made Module"?

Thank's for you answers.

Pretty sure it's a "fan made Module".

Feedback is never pointless. In fact, developers read and collect feedback because it's in their own financial interest to do so. Without feedback, even bugs cannot be patched away. It's not up to the consumer to decide whether it's financially viable, it's up to the business owner.

Ossian Studios teamed up with Beamdog, which is known by having translated to French before. A language spoken by about 300 times more people than Basque. So it's not that unrealistic to ask for, the more so as text translations have been made easier and more financially viable in modern internet times. Which could have future chances for even smaller languages like Basque.

Really? Maybe I am wrong but as far as I know The Ossian Expansions are only available in English

There are free official DLC modules adding a lot of individual languages, but they are for the Diamond Edition heritaged classic/official expansions and modules

That depends on your definition. It's on the same level as the Tyrants of the Moonsea DLC, because it is by the same author, Luke Scull. That author was a fan once, created his own "fan-made module" Siege of Shadowdale and became a part of Ossian Studios, a group creating the premium module Darkness Over Daggerford, while also working on the sequels to his module, Crimson Tides of Tethyr and Tyrants of the Moonsea that were also supposed to become premium modules. Then the premium module project was canceled by Atari, and the developers released these three modules in their at the time current state for free instead. Luke Scull and Ossian Studios then proceeded to create the Mysteries of Westgate expansion for NWN2. When Beamdog (partially composed of former Bioware and NWN devs) enhanced NWN, they gave the module authors the opportunity to rework their old canceled NWN premium modules the way they had originally planned them to be and release them as paid DLC. Luke Scull then dedicated his time to create Doom of Icewind Dale, but seeing that Hasbro did not want Beamdog to release any more paid DLCs, he got some support from Patreon and planned to release DoID for free. It took longer than expected because apparently a lot of new content was created for it and because Beamdog supposedly was in long talks with Hasbro for their permission to release it as paid DLC again.

So no, this was not created by anyone from Bioware or Beamdog, but by someone who initially was a fan module creator, but someone who has a lot of experience under their belt now with official releases (Darkness Over Daggerford, Tyrants of the Moonsea, Mysteries of Westgate), and I believe he's also a published novel author at this point. And DoID is a DLC, not an expansion, but it comes with some new custom content (that I'd expect to become freely available for other fan module creators with the next update, as it was done with similar releases in the past). Luke Scull's earlier modules Siege of Shadowdale and Crimson Tides of Tethyr were also enhanced and can be downloaded in-game for free, btw.

No french = No buy. That's all. Why whining ?

Black_Hart: You must've screwed up your build. I played a dwarven fighter in the OC and he did pretty well, I must say. Some fights were hard, but he did the job.
avatar
Breja: Maybe. I don't remember very well now, but I'm pretty sure I was fighting something that was just immune to my weapon, and I would have to reload a save from a bit earlier, look for a better weapon, then do the dungeon again... and I just didn't feel like doing that.
It was most likely a immunity to the dmg type of you weapon.
Can happen to piercing weapons. Always got a club or some other blunt weapon on hand.

And you could have townportaled back to the temple, buy one and go back.

But the cheesing option was always to have the dwarf monk henchman with you, who is able to dmg everything and who is the 2nd most effective guy to open anything locked, while being the most effective fighter.
This looks very interesting! Bought it and tried to download it for Linux, but the file is wrong: when clicking on Doom of Icewind Dale in the download section, you actually download the Dark Dreams of Furiae expansion.

I know that Ossian Studios former work is English only. But others don't, and here on GOG Ossian isn't listed as developer but Beamdog instead. And this labeling makes it hard for some users.

Anyways, Beamdog is definitely the publisher, and it doesn't make it look good on their side not assisting translating the text into some more major languages. This is publisher's work, and nowadays it isn't a big hassle anymore.

Nah, that's not it. I'm not completely stupid, I've got a club! Because of this topic I actually found the save from 5 years ago - it's the fight with some guy named Brother Toras. I killed all his minions, but can't hurt him with neither my sword (+1), club (+1) or bow. I think I need something stronger, like +3.

Of course it's all kind of academic, after 5 years I have no clue why I'm even there or why I'm fighting him, other than that fighting people in tombs sorrounded by undead is generally the right idea :D All I know is my fighter had a cool helmet with antlers, so that's something.

Ah sounds like a magic user, that has cast stoneskin. Very common for magic bosses in NWN.
If memory serves stoneskin needs a +5 weapon to even overcome its dmg reduction and hit their HP directly. But you can hack away stoneskin too, just takes a few rounds.

Because the stoneskin is kinda a 2nd HP bar.
You won't get dmg numbers above your target, but in combat log you would see that you damaged that stoneskin and how much HP it got left. Stoneskin can absorb up to, I think, 100dmg.
When the HP is used up, the spell is gone, dmg reduction and the more or less 2nd HP bar is gone.

The sound when hitting him is different too, when this "skin" is active, Either like hitting a stone or like chopping wood.

The problem there for a fighter would be more to tank the magic (a lot of healing or teleporting) and maybe some mindaffecting auras or spells (there is a helmet with immunity against that one).

While you're there, you should also preventively remove any valuables you find lying around in coffins and such, to make sure they don't attract any graverobbers to the tomb!
