RoboPond: It was asked here:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1283190/discussions/0/2965016081059816289/

The developer replied and said its because its based on the 2005 console version of the game. Not the PC version.
Hmm, so there's truth to it. That seems like a pretty poor excuse for essentially removing levels from the PC version. Looks like I still have the original in my library, but will that be the case for new buyers?
EDIT: Yes, it seems so. Well it's a less than ideal choice but at least people have a choice between remaster and the full content. Personally I have no problem with the original graphics so I'll just stick with the originals.

my name is magike catte: Well getting the update for free is much appreciated, but someone has already left a review on the store page claiming some levels have been removed. That's literally the only thing it says, does anyone have any further insight?
The 3 levels removed (other than tutorial) appear to be:-

S2 E3 - One Little Piggy
S3 E1 - Laundry Day
S3 E4 - Night Of The Hunter

As an aside, I played it through a bit last night and there are some gameplay changes. Eg, in S1 E5 "The Old Spoilsport", there's a mobile phone you can use to distract him. In the original you simply click the phone. With the new one, you have to walk up to the number on the wall in the kitchen and use it there. Likewise, picking up the bowling ball now requires an annoying Match 3 mini-game vs just picking it up like every other object. I don't know if anything else has been altered later on but I think I'll stick to the originals due to the missing levels and unwanted gameplay changes.

Weird. I'm guessing those changes were already made when it was ported to consoles?
Wow, thanks!

It does look like they were removed for consoles for some reason. I also don't know if the originals show up for new buyers. Someone buying it new will have to confirm that.
Three fewer levels or not, I'm not about to complain about getting a freebie.

Thank you very much. Looks great.

I actually meant the weird minigame thing when I said that, but yes I'm assuming the missing levels are also part of that.
I already answered my own question about new buyers, they do in fact get the originals if the new store page is to be believed so that's good. Not ideal, but not a disaster. :P

Ooh, nice!
Thank you, GOG and FarbWorks, THQ Nordic / HandyGames.
Not thanks

- Demaster is based on console version with missing content.
- Original games removed from sale and you have to buy more expensive useless demaster to get them.

Luckily I already own that compilation, so thanks for the free upgrade! I'm not sure if the remastered version really is an improvement, reading some of the reviews. Removing levels is not a good idea, the remastered version has no extras (not even a manual?) and the system requirements are much higher now. But the worst part of the upgrade is the new regional price, more than 30% above the US price. That's very annoying and I for sure would not buy the game anymore when I would not own it!

+1

It's a shame that the games are nowhere to be found.
