Outrunning oppression.

Mirror's Edge™, the energetic free-running action game with the striking visual design, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 50% launch discount.

The gleaming, utopian appearance of the city cannot fool Faith. She's seen how things are run around here, with everyday activity being monitored closely and sensitive pieces of information constantly changing hands high above the oblivious citizens. Now her sister is being framed for a crime she didn't commit and Faith must employ every bit of her resourcefulness and parkour talents to run the rooftops, avoid the authorities, and expose the truth.
The revolutionary first-person running mechanics and intense hand-to-hand combat make Mirror's Edge™ into a spectacular action romp, boosted by its pristine aesthetics and unmatched sense of flow. Leap, climb, race, and slide across the dangerous cityscape, always staying mindful of your surroundings and occasionally being ready to flee rather than fight, when the situation grows desperate.

Navigate Faith through high-speed chases atop the city's skyscrapers and discover what's hiding behind the Mirror's Edge™, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 50% discount will last until September 29, 12:59 PM UTC.

Smannesman: Another great GOG Connect candidate.
... is the new "I have it already on steam so I'll pass! :D™" XD

BTW, I fully agree with GR00T

Normal game price is 10e on Steam, meanwhile it's almost double on GOG, as much as I'd love to buy this there's no chance on a freezing hell that I'll buy this game here. I fell for it with Dead Space, never again.

DRM-Free shouldn't mean more expensive and I'm very disappointed in GOG allowing this. I know they're a business but if this the way they want to make profit, then I'm not gonna be part of this any longer. And by that I mean no longer buying games here until the mess is fixed.

It's the new "You're ridiculously late in releasing it here and it's way overpriced without a decent discount. And hey, you have this feature you never use which allows people that already bought the game elsewhere in the decade since it's been released to also have a copy here.".
Or something like that.
Please stop this bitching. If you wnat to buy these games. Fine. Do it. If you do not want to buy these games for whatever reason. Fine. Don't. At least EA and also Activision (although even more expensive ;) are releasing "new" games here. Many of the publishers "on-board" are not (Paradox, Deep Silver, Square Enix, etc).

I do not know if EA people are following posts like this (probably not), but they are not really motivating.

Aw, come on, everyone knows that GOG Connect was just a PR trick. If they allowed Connect for every game released, no matter how late, nobody would ever buy a game on GOG again. Imo, GOG Connect is an idiocy.

Edit: Or, better, something to use very rarely to attract more customers, when losses are less than gains.

Edit 2: Btw, I fully agree with "You're ridiculously late in releasing it here and it's way overpriced without a decent discount", but I tend to think that this is 100% EA's doing.

barleyguy: It DOES offend me that this whole stupid thread is about the price rather than the game. Seriously, shut up.
I'm sorry, did someone make you the boss of these forum while we weren't looking? We have as much right to complain about the price of this game that has even been offered for free at some point, than you do of complaining about the complainers.

Just don't read this thread if we "offend" you...

I know, but I'm tired of GOG doing things like that and the cult of GOG still worshiping at their altar.
And of course it's EA and for some other releases Activision's doing, I also doubt GOG even brought up the price once during a meeting.

Fair points.

WesleyB: Does this version comes with time trials? ..or any way to implement them at all?
avatar
catpower1980: I just installed the game and launched it and the time trials are available in the menu but you apparently need a EA account to access them. Fresh screenshot below.
Pardon my vagueness, I was talking about the Pure Time Trial Pack which is not included in this release and is only an Origin exclusive.
Oh well, the slightly more shady method of downloading the files and replacing the tutorial map with each one of the trial maps still works.. even if it's a hassle.

liquidsnakehpks: Whats with the crazy price ? this game is good no doubt but its has been bundled to death, offered for free as well before i dont see any cool extras either where is the freaking awesome soundtrack for this game ??
avatar
matoro1992: Really? Aw man! No OST or wallpapers/concept art?
The majority of the game's OST and concept art is an unlockable extras.

kokosabre: On one side is tempting but it really feel like paying premium just for being DRM-free ( $5 on Origin, $10 on Steam) .. well gonna hold off buying it for now.
I used to trade these on Steam because in the EU it's been selling for 2.50 euro for as long as I can remember (on sales) and US discount usually stayed at $5.
Another thing I don't get: why the fair price package works only with non US-citizens? If I can buy a game for X in EU rather than 2X in the USA, X should be the base price and the US citizens should get another X of store credit. Isn't that the philosphy? Yet, if the US price is higher, we must all pay it higher -not much equality, imo.

It may be an idiocy, but it's at least helpful in recognising people who think that games should be given for free and who think that running GOG Connect all the time is a viable business plan for GOG—nice and easy filter.

It all depends on the currency exchange rates at the time. Your assumption that games are always more expensive in the US is completely wrong though.

Games costing $39.99 in the US, sell for £39.99 in the UK.
So i always buy my games from US online stores as it saves me a fortune. $39.99 = £30.80 today, for example.

I don't think one should pay premium for DRM free here. This game is 7 years old. With or without DRM, it's best days are over. This is just to max the audience and therefore I would suggest only buying it here if the price during a promo is below or close to the lowest price on Steam (unless you must have it and you must have it DRM free).
