Outrunning oppression.

Mirror's Edge™, the energetic free-running action game with the striking visual design, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 50% launch discount.

The gleaming, utopian appearance of the city cannot fool Faith. She's seen how things are run around here, with everyday activity being monitored closely and sensitive pieces of information constantly changing hands high above the oblivious citizens. Now her sister is being framed for a crime she didn't commit and Faith must employ every bit of her resourcefulness and parkour talents to run the rooftops, avoid the authorities, and expose the truth.
The revolutionary first-person running mechanics and intense hand-to-hand combat make Mirror's Edge™ into a spectacular action romp, boosted by its pristine aesthetics and unmatched sense of flow. Leap, climb, race, and slide across the dangerous cityscape, always staying mindful of your surroundings and occasionally being ready to flee rather than fight, when the situation grows desperate.

Navigate Faith through high-speed chases atop the city's skyscrapers and discover what's hiding behind the Mirror's Edge™, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 50% discount will last until September 29, 12:59 PM UTC.

Whats with the crazy price ? this game is good no doubt but its has been bundled to death, offered for free as well before i dont see any cool extras either where is the freaking awesome soundtrack for this game ??
Nice to see it released here.
This is awesome! I wonder what other EA classics we're going to get from GOG. Please let it be Mass Effect series next!

Also, I was wondering if it's easy to run this game on Linux through wine?
Cool release. Thanks.

Great releases, but wow, these prices ... I guess there always has to be a catch when EA does something seemingly great?

Almost 3-4 times as much as these games cost on Origin (and in part twice the price they cost on Steam). Even at 50% off the GOG versions are still 2x as expensive as they are on Origin. I really prefer DRM-free games, but is it worth THAT much? O_o

WesleyB: Does this version comes with time trials? ..or any way to implement them at all?

catpower1980: I just installed the game and launched it and the time trials are available in the menu but you apparently need a EA account to access them. Fresh screenshot below.
That would be kind of a deal breaker for me because the game doesn't really get started until the time trials. All those soldiers in the story mode just got in the way of what Mirror's Edge was about - Faith is an artist, and the pristine white rooftops are her canvas.

Full price for this game on GOG and Origin is $19.99. I'm not sure why there are so many complaints. Maybe the sale price isn't as good, but this is technically a new release here. Maybe wait until the end of year sale for a better sale price.

Why does the German Origin page say 4.99 EUR then? And Steam says 9.99 EUR, regular price over here. Games being cheaper in Germany than the US, that's new ...

So what prices are displayed for you here and here? Are they all the same in the US?

Btw, I'm not nagging because I want to buy the games, I'm just pointing out the differences across stores (and/or countries that don't usually have different prices). The other stores have sales, too, so e.g. The Saboteur can be bought for 2,50 EUR when it's on sale at Origin.

Can someone please confirm if mods are compaitable with gog version?
Like can we play Time Trial Maps and other mods in gog version?
I know it's silly question but if some one could confirm that would be great.

barleyguy: I have the same question. I actually own this on PS3, but will buy it again for my GOG collection if it's a better version.

Also, will all of you PLEASE quit bitching about the price? Seriously, I spent $6 on beverages yesterday, and it's not like we're comparing apples to apples since this is the only place you can get this DRM Free. I really don't like it when a thread turns to a bunch of people whining about a $5 price difference when we could be discussing the quality of the actual game. </rant off>
Sorry it offends you, but it's a legitimate complaint. It might be different if it was a new or newer release, but these games have been out for years and on sale for a significantly reduced price for years. DRM-free is important to me just ike it is to many people here, but I'm not willing to be soaked by companies that finally deign to offer their old and regularly sale priced games DRM-free.
