Empathy simulator.

Mini Metro, a brain-wracking metro simulator, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

Sometimes, the most complicated things come in the simplest packages. Mini Metro, a strategy public-transit simulation, is a staple of simple brain-wracking glory.
In its simplicity, Mini Metro is beautiful and to the point - a simple map dotted with shapes and distinctly colored lines is something we've all seen before while traversing major cities, and it all evokes a very familiar sense of nervousness and confusion. Then, more stops, more people, begin to show up.

It's right about then that you should be hit with a sudden wave of empathy for both: the frustrated passengers waiting and changing lines, as well as the people tasked with the weight of figuring out and pleasing the flowing masses.

Despite being a relatively simplified simulation of real life mechanics, Mini Metro gives you a taste of the urgency and sophistication of transit planning. If you can figure it out and survive, you may just find yourself with a newfound understanding for that one really stupid transfer you have to make on your way to work.

Check out the developer's website for a playable taste of the full game.

IronArcturus: Does the GOG game have any audio? The demo on the devs website doesn't have any.

Matruchus: Yes, the game has audio since september update if I remember correctly.

Edit: Correction it has audio since end of August.
Does the game have any kind of level editors?
This has been on my radar for several months, I wonder if it is in any way realistic or more of an abstract puzzle game like Sokobond which only marginally has to do with chemistry.
One question @ the blues:
Will the greek language be added to the game soon? I'm asking this because I have proof this game can be played in greek (via the demo on the developer's site) and it would be kind of unfair to have like every single other language (even turkish!) in yet another game without greek even though greek is available...

The part that seems confusing about the game is the stations. If a passenger wants to go to "triangle" station, and there are multiple triangle stations on the map, why doesn't it differentiate between them?
So, is it only metro lines, or does it include tram lines as well? If the latter, I would be happy if they would include Norrköping as a tutorial or simple-mode level.

No, it doesn't have a map/level editor as of yet but it has 12 city maps on which cities always develop organically so every attempt is different and transport needs occur differently.
What happened to the good old habit of not releasing new games during major sales???

You are really torturing my wallet, GOG!
Nice. Wishlisted.

You guys should probably remove the note down on the bottom of the game page now:

"Please Note: Other Languages are currently in development - the full list of available languages will be confirmed closer to launch."

Wait a moment- this wasn't removed? Maybe there's still hope for the game to get the greek language version... (see my previous post on the 1st page for proof of it being available)

Actually, I think the only games that aren't released during major sales are "classic" ones (though they've even been making exceptions for that more recently). New releases have pretty consistently been released during the big sales since GOG first began offering them.

Quick questions - Is this game structured in stages beyond the one-week timeframe? Is there an ending to it?
I little something to listen to in the background while you play.
Played the demo, it was so addictive I had to buy the game. I think it would be great to play on the phone.
This, along with Sky Rogue was good enough to almost make me break my pledge to avoid any and all Early Access titles. If you're on the fence about this game, I really recommend trying out the free web version. I got so hooked on it that I almost made a custom Fluid-based SSB devoted just to this game.

To answer some earlier questions, no, there is no level editor (though I'd love to see it), and yes, there is audio, but it's a very subtle ambient-type of soundtrack. I'm almost tempted to say that the sound effects are almost part of the soundtrack, especially when things get hectic and you're trying to reroute multiple lines or move locomotives.

With respect to the levels/cities/gameplay themselves, in Normal mode, there's no real "ending" to them, except for when a station is overcrowded from too many "shapes" waiting for a train. (When that happens, you lose.) The one-week timeframe is more there to give a structure to the game's schedule for doleing out resources to you. There is an "Infinite" mode, which removes the lose condition, and an "Extreme" mode where, once you lay down a line, you can't change it.

I think the last sale already had some classic games that were released during the sale (in a bundle). But before that I only remember day-1-games during sales (e.g. Redshirt). It seems in this sale we get new and semi-new games every day. I like it, but it makes me spend much more money than I thought I would.
