A true Telltale adventure in a true Minecraft world.

Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 2, the second part of the the Telltale take on the ultimate sandbox universe, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy achievements.

Telltale is a studio renowned for their ability to capture the essence of anything they touch. Whether it's the comic-book world of The Wolf Among Us, the zany universe of Borderlands, or the courtly intrigue from Game of Thrones - the developers at Telltale are always spot on with the writing, the tone, and the visuals.
Minecraft: Story Mode is a Telltale game in every respect. A new, and perhaps familiar, adventure awaits with great writing, plenty of choices, a memorable cast of characters, and that intangible something that blends Telltale gameplay with Minecraft's unique aesthetics, sounds, and gameplay. While Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure rather than sandbox, you'll still get to run away from creepers, punch trees and craft.

The grand adventure in the world of Minecraft continues with Episode 2 - Assembly Required now available for download. Things get heavy and really, really dangerous (but danger's fun, isn't it?) as our blocky friends escape from a looming threat, navigate a hail of TNT, and so much more.

As always, every episode, past and future, is included in your purchase.

Some assembly may be required in Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 2, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

This looks like one of the dumbest ideas for a game I've ever seen. Isn't Minecraft an entirely story-less sandbox game?

Turning popular games into a story is the trendy thing to do now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59ObYybZkgc

So don't blame just Telltale. It's a push at making mainstream products...even more mainstream! by giving them identities that can be sold at the personal level. Is it random box head guy and red angry bird, OR is it Bob and Peter? :P

Zoidberg: meh-lltale...

Do you really have to buy them at all? I personally wouldn't hate you if you didn't. :D
avatar
Smannesman: No, but I didn't just want to post how much I hate their company so I included the most positive thing I could think of.
Which tells a lot, ahah.

Yes I do not respect them in the least, because respect is a two-way street (as is disrespect :P).

Sorry, only English, no American.

That entirely depends on the players. If you can't make a story worth telling, that's your problem (not that I'm any better).

What do you mean "make your own story"? The story is the thing the devs create, integrate with the gameplay and you play through. Do you mean playing multiplayer with other people and pretend "roleplaying" and making up things as you go along?

That isn't "story" mate, it's a bunch of kids dressing up as wizards in their backyard while shouting "lightning bolt!" at each other.

"Make up your own story" - LOL

EDIT: A better word for this would be LARPing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_action_role-playing_game

Only that autistic kids would most likely never do that.
It's really sad to see that this word is used today like the word "jewish" was used in several countries some time ago...
What's the word for this? Neuroracism?

Do you know some kids with Asperger's or Kanner's Syndrome? Have you read scientific literature by Simon Baron-Cohen or his colleagues? No? Then please stfu.

Klumpen0815: Neuroracism?
You see, here's another example of make-believe playing. Making up words which don't exist.

If someone knows a proper word for this form of uneducated and mislead hatred which strongly resembles racism in it's dumb ways but is targeted at a specific group of neurodivergent people, I'd be happy to know it, since it seems to have become a thing.

If it makes you feel better I'll remove that word, as you do seem to be irrationally agitated. I'm not sure how you even survive on the internet without having your special feelings violated? Do you also get irrationally mad when someone uses "fag" casually? Does it trigger your homophobia detector? I mean I knew Germans were politically correct and cuckolded since WWII but you certainly take it to a new level mate, over a single word no less.

I'll be sure to post a trigger warning next time!

Crosmando: snip
You are the first one ever that called me politically correct. :D
I've lost hundreds of rep by social justice bullies on this board so it's ironic to be put in the same drawer.

You can write whatever you want, I just have to say, that it's not only offensive (I don't really care about that) but utter bullshit as well.
Most autists would rather read a book, play a game alone or learn/do something as professional as possible and be left alone most of the time. The kids gathering in groups for make-believe roleplaying as wizards and knights or cowboys and indians are about the exact opposite and the word "allistic" would have been more fitting.
If someone is ranting about something or using a word as a slur, he should at least know a bit of what he is talking about, that's all.
Autists get bullied their whole life for what they are, so there really is no need to even bully them for things they are not.

It's a joke, and if you aren't familiar with the "autistic minecraft players" meme I'd probably have to ask what rock you'd been hiding under, as it's been around for quite a while:

I wasn't familiar with it indeed. I've never played Minecraft and have probably been living under the "Rock of autistic minding one's own business and not falling for hypes".
The people in this video are creepy American kids and I'm not only talking about the people in the audience. ;)

Never played Minecraft, but I've spent quite some time on Dwarf Fortress, and even a purely procedural sandbox gameplay CAN generate story. You just need to connect the dots between player- or game-generated events. It's quite a fun mental gym, really.

But then again, as a fan of real RPGs (meaning tabletop, not videogames), and very occasional LARPer, I'm one of those "kids dressing up as wizards in their backyard while shouting "lightning bolt!" at each other" :p

The word you're looking for is "being dumb on the internet". OK, it's actually five words if you want to be autistic about it :P

I'm almost 99% sure that Minecraft does not have procedural-generated quests which give XP or whatever (at least not without mods).

Sure, tabletop RPG's have a fair bit of improvisation involved, but they have actual rules written down which are followed and which define everything in the gameplay.
