A true Telltale adventure in a true Minecraft world.

Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 2, the second part of the the Telltale take on the ultimate sandbox universe, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy achievements.

Telltale is a studio renowned for their ability to capture the essence of anything they touch. Whether it's the comic-book world of The Wolf Among Us, the zany universe of Borderlands, or the courtly intrigue from Game of Thrones - the developers at Telltale are always spot on with the writing, the tone, and the visuals.
Minecraft: Story Mode is a Telltale game in every respect. A new, and perhaps familiar, adventure awaits with great writing, plenty of choices, a memorable cast of characters, and that intangible something that blends Telltale gameplay with Minecraft's unique aesthetics, sounds, and gameplay. While Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure rather than sandbox, you'll still get to run away from creepers, punch trees and craft.

The grand adventure in the world of Minecraft continues with Episode 2 - Assembly Required now available for download. Things get heavy and really, really dangerous (but danger's fun, isn't it?) as our blocky friends escape from a looming threat, navigate a hail of TNT, and so much more.

As always, every episode, past and future, is included in your purchase.

Some assembly may be required in Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 2, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Are there any plans to make non-English audio? Because I can't be bothered to learn English and I don't like to read, so I should be catered to in my lesser spoken but equally valid native tongue of grunts and hand signals.
The low-star rating seems a bit premature, like "Oh it's Minecraft! That's for babies!"

asb: "Telltale is a studio renowned for their ability to capture the essence of anything they touch". They're also renowned for totally ignoring their customers after they have their money. 3 years on, and they still haven't fixed a game breaking bug in Sam and Max which they've patched on other platforms: http://www.gog.com/forum/sam_and_max_series/sybil_doesnt_appear_spoiler/page3
Here you go, I made this: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/get_telltale_to_fix_the_sybil_bug_in_sam_max_save_the_world
A new Telltale game that makes their terribly dated engine actually look good. The source material this time around is a perfect match it seems. ;)

Voted, it is essential to bring up this lack of proper support from Telltale in every thread so more people are informed regarding this unresolved issue.

Nice to have day one releases here. I might buy it in the future.
Wow, I wasn't expecting this game to show up on GOG.

Just curious, does Story Mode require Java to be installed like the original?
Umm, how about Minecraft and forget about Story Mode?

NOTE: there is a typo in the game title--should be Telltale Games (plural).
I find the most perplexing thing about this has to be not that it is here yet the base game is not, Its that this will invariably be on steam and minecraft was one of the few games to ever snub steam (when they finally were deemed worthy of the GabeNs attention). So to see a spin off of a game on a platform the base game wanted nothing to do with seems beyond bizarre. I guess it is a glimpse of the future when IP holders shop around their properties for external development when projects like this are well received.

But then again, Minecraft basically belongs to microsoft now anyway, so really it does the same sort of Lucas/Marvel > Disney whitewashing of the entire property thing. Oh well, fun while it lasted.
personnal relation with telltale so far...
walking dead: nice at first, and become a bit bored after third episode (didnt tried the 400 thing), plus, as i got the whole first season early, i began playing a few weeks before life is strange started (gog, go abduct some dontnod official and get this gem HERE damnit !)...

tried first episode of game of throne... didnt like it enough to buy the whole stuff (though i like westeros world, even in other games such as the action rpg one with night guard and fire priest). cant put my finger on why... it just pissed me off and i was rather surprised, as i did have a positive intention before trying it

purchased the borderlands one when it was on sale on gog (4 parts available out of 5)... some times after i already purchased borderland complete humble bundle, and so, played telltale borderlands after nearly 3 weeks of playing borderland all my spare time. feared some overdose... hell no ! i enjoyed a whole night marathon of it, and liked it much...

here ? 1st why not work in finishing borderlands pending story first ? 2nd i am puzzled, and really not appealed to this minecraft stuff (while i do enjoy playing minecraft often at a casual level). the kind of game i may watch a letsplay (and i fear it may be at best as entertaining as some good minecraft youtube channels, but only at best). plus the price ! telltale stuff is rather expensive outside of sale/discount

(and to consider i got life is strange full pass below 18 bucks by preordering it)
i think telltales are resting on past glory a bit too heavily

Good to see a day 1 release from Teltalle here, no matter how uninteresting it is. I hope this means they will actually care about their games here and patch Sam and Max.
Yeah, I don't they won't...
oh... indeed you are right: a day one release from such a gaming studio. (no sarcasm at all...)
it may be a good omen regarding gog aura all around. i hope so.

but i would have rather liked them finishing their excellent still incomplete tales from borderlands first before jumping in a new boat; or try some new stuff not related to any big IP franchise, as they did with "wolf among us" (that i already got but yet didnt even start playing, to my greatest shame)

Grargar: No, that's enough. Otherwise, we're going to start attracting the jeering squad.
I tried out for Jeering squad, but I didn't make the cut. =(
Even though I never really played Minecraft, I bought and played through this. If you've played any of Telltale's games since The Walking Dead, you'll be familiar with this in terms of gameplay and presentation. The story is in keeping with Minecraft's fantasy setting, with a tiny bit of self-awareness I assume Minecraft players would appreciate. All the voice actors did a good job I think. The cast is pretty sympathetic, based on the choices I made. It's not bad for what it is, and I actually liked the story, even if I find the characters' limited aesthetics a bit odd for my tastes. And in the end, it seemed I was in the minority for all the decisions I made.
