All the lonely people.. Where do they all belong?

Memoranda, a surreal point & click adventure about the magical side-effects of isolation, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 15% launch discount.

Everybody in this small town is looking for something: shelter, companionship, their very identity. Inspired by the pages of Haruki Murakami, the quaint cafés and picturesque alleys paint a lovely picture, but they do little to ease the pain of the quiet, broken people living here. Among them a young woman who struggles to remember who she is, and must seek the help of peculiar characters, like an elephant living in a timid man's cottage and a soldier still haunted by his WW II memories.

Welcome to Memoranda, a hand-drawn world that hides your real name in its magical realism, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 15% discount will last until January 31, 4:30PM UTC.

I dislike the art and the Murakami reference. I might give a try if I hear that it plays well, as gameplay is the thorn in the side for the point and click genre.
Mmm, so as "puzzles don't make sense", trying to play it doesn't too. I gladly pass on this one!

Martian12: The art style is gorgeous and the game looks very promising!
it is, but i watched some walkthroughs on youtube and it looks all very depressing, games usally are fun , weird or depressing which is good, but this one is really depressing, just watch some parts of the walkthrough on youtube and you will see.

The price is good, even the listprice is nice : less then 15 euros for point and click is a good listprice.
But the story is way to depressing for me, i might get it much later cause its to depressing and sad.

96Kittty: Hello, this game is really pretty (as you can see). The plot is wierd but interesting. It feels like inspired by Japanese literature - seems real and deep but is surreal and fairy-tale-like. Lots of cats. Mandatory Alice in Wonderland reference. Lots of talking, wandering around, collecting, combining things and solving puzzles. Because of surreal setting, puzzles don't make sense. Music is pleasant but forgettable. Recommended for point-and-click adventure lovers. People that got interested but hesitate, should give this game a try because it's truly beautiful and unique.

Now, does anyone know how to enter the house where the elephant is hiding because I'm stuck. D:
youtube has many hints videos and walkthroughs, when no demo is available for point and click i always go to youtube and watch walkthroughs this way i get to say all scenes, all graphics sounds and animations, i also do this when i buy casualgames (like hidden object games) this will help me to see if a HOG is worth the list price.

Artstyle looked great and it is a point and click
i think il pick it up even if some people says its depressing.
wishlisted until when i can afford it.

Oh, and
is there any advantage to reading the works of Haruki Murakami in regards to the puzzles?

Sure there is! If you have read all of his books you are a bored bourgeois with a lot of free time, therefore you can invest that free time in "solving" illogical puzzles clicking everywhere.
looks freaky deaky, wishlisted

musteriuz: People puking? I'll pass.
Well, I'm not in a position to say if it's people (plural) puking, there's a moment in the trailer where this one guy pukes on the table he's sitting at. But to the be fair, it is the sort of thing you'd expect him to do,and not really off-putting to me.
Nice to see that there are still game developers out there which can make adventure games with good graphics and on top of that even add a Linux version. :)

Although that doesn't sound as if the game would be for me.

At this point I'm guessing there won't be drm-free keys for backers (the game is out here, and it's pretty easy to ask GOG for keys for their backers).

Funny thing, I would have this game already if a weren't a backer.

And they said in their second update: "Today we decided to release a DRM-free version of the game and do not rely only on Steam.", which is why I kept my pledge, as I don't back projects that don't promise drm-free releases.

I guess it's another developer to the black list, and another stain to crowdfunding credibility. It's getting to a point where I will only back teams that already gave drm-free keys in previous projects.

I messaged them through kickstarter and wrote a comment in the project wall, but they're keeping silent.

now this is really bad news :( I still hope they'll communicate somehow, at least confirm/deny this... I don't need the game right now, and I definitely won't buy it because I already did... so here's me waiting and hoping :P

The game has a hints system in it and the puzzles are not that surreal in solving them. There are clues in the game (remember to hit the F button for possible interactions and the M button for diary) but you do have to think outside the box at times. It is in no way as hard as "Discworld" but it isn't easy either. I've gotten through quite of bit the game, so it isn't that bad (I had to cheat just about the whole way through "Discworld")!!

I'm loving this game so far, graphics are good, artwork is delightful, the story is good and I love surreal (though, I always want the surreal games to go further with it).

Good news. They answered to my second kickstarter message. It happens they weren't getting kickstarter notifications for the messages. And yes, they give gog keys to those backers asking for them. So I just did, and I'm waiting for my drm-free key.
You should write them to their email for the key (the one they sent the preview steam key from.
