JinKazaragi: Does choosing japanese during installation work with the offline installers, I don't mind reinstalling them (though just choosing the like in Ys8 is more comfortable) I just want to avoid the Launcher.
That is exactly what i meant. You get to choose during installation. Despite me being a Galaxy user, i always install from the offline installers.

EDIT: A small correction: What i said applies for V2R. For RB1-3 there are separate installers for each text language.

Pro: new Neptunia game on GOG - yay!!

Con: having to wade through confusing jargon-heavy descriptions on other sites to work out if the DLC packs contain anything I'd ever want to use (at least I don't have to work out what a "pom" is for this one)

MarkoH01: Hmmm... I would have been happy to get those missing DLCs added to my originally bought "DLC pack" which never mentioned that it is incomplete ... I am torn here. Nice that it is even available here but not so nice that they want additional money for every DLC ....
avatar
Totenglocke: The DLC in the new packs was released in the past year, long after they did the initial DLC pack. Everyone was surprised when they suddenly started putting out more DLC for the Rebirth games this long after release. You weren't deceived, they just decided to make more down the line.
Thank you for the explanation. I am feeling much better now :)

YESSS FINALLY!!! I I've been waiting for RB1 DLCs for a long time! To be honest I lost all hopes to see them here, but they are finally here!!! And with the soundtracks and other bonus goodies, such a treat! Feels like christmas came early this year! EVERYTHING INSTABOUGHT! XD
Nice surprise to see Megadimension VIIR here too, I thought Iffy would release Normal VIIfirst and leave VIIR for later, while it is very very nice, It means no extra characters Nitroplus, Million Arthur, God Eater, Umio and Nepgya for us (not counting the missing 2 endings and the old Noire VA)... Well I can't really complain, I'm really happy :D
Hope to see the Neptunia spinoffs and other Idea Factory games released here too (Death End Re;Quest and Omega Qintet, etc...)
Thanks GOG and of course Iffy for these releases! I love you both, you have to know you made someone very happy today <3
It's nice that they added the remainder of the DLC packs for Rebirth 1-3. Too bad they didn't add the Original VII to the list of games here. VIIR in my mind was a huge disappointment. The new combat system of ViIIR was just lousy vs the the original VII and Rebirth 1-3. Also the DLC weapons and armor packs suck for VIIR vs the original because they don't have any items/gear for Nepgear at all.
<---
Okay, I am now officially confused.
I decided to continue to play Hyperdimension Neptunia 1 and the game suddenly informs me that the DLC additional content pack 4,5 and 6 have been activated. I did not buy any additional DLC and the package 5,4 and 6 are not listed in the DLC menu so I cannot deactivate them. Is this normal? Are these the new DLCs that should cost additional money?

First I thought that maybe the message is wrong but now I got three additional characters which seem to be part of these new DLCs (Kei Jinguji, Mina Nishizawa, and Chika Hakozaki).

How come they still didn't add Achievements to the GOG versions of these games even though the Steam versions do have Achievements?

It's good they are finally giving the GOG versions DLC parity, but it's no good for GOG customers still not to be receiving Achievement parity as well.

These games should be given 100% parity between Steam & GOG versions.

Hikage1983: I would have preferred the non-R version, but not gonna complain!
Could you please explain/elaborate on that statement? Are you saying the GOG version is censored? Is the Steam version not censored? Who sells the uncensored version? And why is GOG (apparently) selling a censored version?

VIIR has

None of the DLC Characters from VII and their side stories are not in VIIR

VIIR has no alternate endings so you only get 1 ending. Less story content as well.

An inferior battle system with a less story content and all you get in return is pointless VR content. I'd say pass VIIR

Only reason for VIIR really is the VR Headset cutscenes.

Differences
------------------------------------------------------------
Megadimension Neptunia VII

Has New Game+

Has Multiple Save Slots

Has the extra story based dlc characters God Eater, Million Arthur, Nitroplus etc..

Has Multiple Endings

Has better graphics filtering and lighting quality for the Bloom effects

------------------------------------------------------------

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR

No New Game+

Only ONE save file no save slots

Does not have any of the DLC side stories and characters.

Does not have alternate endings.

Has an inferior battle system

Does not have Bloom effect and has lower graphics filtering and lighting quality
(Although some old dungeons were given re design with higher quality textures and transparent textures)

Redesigned HUD

Other party members follow you in dungeons.

And the only good thing about it is that it has VR cutscenes of the Goddesses and thats basically it.....

Disclaimer: First, a quick disclaimer, since this guide seems to be spreading outside of Reddit, like on Gamefaqs, Steam Forums, etc: Not all of what is written here is guaranteed to be correct, they are my interpretations and I might have made translations mistakes, or may have written things that at first appeared to be that way, but maybe they aren't. Feel free to point my mistakes, if you notice one, and I'll fix it. Please don't take this "changes compilations" as the word of God.

So, let's run down everything that has changed. The reason of this post is is that everyone can comment anything I forgot or any mistake I made. So, let's begin:

-VR Mode

-Graphics got better, specially in the lightning department, and the amount of polygons per character model was also increased.

-You can now sprint, which doubles your speed (characters have no animation for sprinting).

-Counter mechanic: Upon activating, your turn ends, but if you are attacked, you will use a counter skill on the enemy instead of taking damage (mechanic currently ridiculously overpowered and destroys game balance)

-HDD Detransform Heal: Not much is known about this one, but if you cancel your transformation with HDD characters, you will receive a huge heal (mechanic currently overpowered and breaks game balance).

-Combo attacks are now selected before each turn on a menu

-Combo attacks now use up to 2-4 AP, depending on how strong it is.

-Skills and EXEs now use SP and AP. Next EXEs use up all your AP and a really huge chunk of SP.

-Maximum AP is 10, and a certain amount is restored every turn.

-Defending costs no AP and ends your turn.

-Next Forms attacks can deal damage through Affimojas cape (Normal forms seems to deal really low damage in corparison, like 9 damage per hit on Normal Forms, and 600 per hit on Next Forms).

-Neplunker Zero reward gives you infinite sprint.

-Several new tracks were added, including two new Dark CPU boss themes, Steamax boss theme, Affimojas boss theme, Kurome boss theme (for true ending last fight) and a new Colosseum theme.

-DLC characters are gone, as far as I know.

-Some characters have new skill animations, like Nepgear's Panzer Blade.

-A new cutscene was added during the first hour of Zero Dimension Arc where Neptune punches Uzume.

-A new cutscene was added after defeating Affimojas with Next Forms, where Next Purple erases his dark energy.

-A new CG was added when first meeting Kurome.

-You can now sell items anywhere.

-You can have a maximum amount of 1000 items at once on your inventory, being able to expand that number with DLC.

-Weapons and armors will have different effects, even if they have the same names. This effects can vary from damage boost to specific skills, extra HP/STR/INT,etc.

-Weapons and Armors drop from all kind of monsters, and their stats may vary, even though weapons and armors dropped from the same monsters will have the same names.

-Bounties were added: Objectives that makes you hunt specific and powerful monsters, who will then reward you with tons of weapons, armors, credits and items when killed. Bounties must be undertaken before those monsters appear, and bounties will be cleared when those monsters are defeated.

-Skills require certain conditions to be learned, and some really high level skills can be learned really early on if you know what you are doing.

-Weapons and armors can be upgraded until +10. Ths doesn't apply to DLC weapons, which already start at +10 when receiving them.

-You can now jump on top of anything, and also jump across anything, as long as everyplace through where you start the jump and where you finish are "blue colored" on the minimap, and the height is not higher than your jump heigth.

-Trophies/Achievements were updated, more about it here.

-Kurome outfit is achievable through the base version of the game already.

-Characters on your party will follow you on dungeons and will always be besides you. The path-finding AI is years better than Cyberdimension and will rarely ever make a mistake (though some funny glitches can happen).

-Formation skills now all have unique cinematics.

-Apparently, there is no New Game Plus, and only True Ending. Need confirmation on this.

-Bonus: First week sales went down from 22,609 to 18,228 according to Famitsu (15,775 according to MC). More about it here.

The next few changes were copied from a gamefaqs comment: see more here

-The game is only 30 FPS due to VR (VR mode probably isn't 30 FPS capped though).

-No more random encounters on the world map.

-To unlock skills you need money.

-There is an auto save feature. I'm also adding that there is only one save file per new game.

-Your party gets fully healed at the end of every battle and because of this you can only use 4 items during battle.

-The world map is a living being instead of just a background image.

-The scout system was redesigned and now you can only send 1 at a time or 2 depending on the skills of the scouts.

-Senmu Labyrinth is no longer the place to farm exp.

-Easier to get true ending.

This will be constantly editted based on comments from you guys, so be sure to comment anything you know/think may have changed, or anything I messed up. It's highly appreciated

Ah, i should have elaborated for non-veterans. My bad.
HDN Victory 2 was the original 2016 release. Victory 2R (this release) is a remake of sorts that includes a new graphics engine (Orochi4), a revamped battle system, and some new events that are VR compatible (viewable without VR gear too). This is not a full list of the improvements.

The reason i prefer the 2016 version is because it had manual saves, multiple endings (this one only features the True Ending),and it was more challenging. Do not get me wrong tho, it's still the greatest mainline NEP and it has my recommendation.

EDIT: What Bigs said minus the 30fps point. That was only true for the PS4 version. PC is 60fps
Also let me iterate that nothing is censored. Not here, not anywhere.

I now compared my latest archived Installers of Hyperdimension Neptunia 1 with todays updated installer.
My archived installer did not install any DLCs and the DLC folder is empty before adding the DLC package. Todays installer does in fact install three DLCs into the DLC folder which seem to be the DLC packages 4,5 and 6. So you have those without even having a DLC package installed. Something obviously went wrong here.

Edit: It is even worse. Installing the actual base game and the DLC Pack (1) several DLCs that were in my old install are now gone (i.e. the costume DEDENKI DLC package). I have compared trhe DLC folders.

Using using my old base game installer and my old DLC installer it shows

NRB1DLC000000001
NRB1DLC000000002
NRB1DLC000000003
NRB1DLC000000004
NRB1DLC000000005
NRB1DLC000000006
NRB1DLC000000007
NRB1DLC000000008
NRB1DLC000000009
NRB1DLC000000010
NRB1DLC000000011
NRB1DLC000000012

Using the actual base game installer and the actual dlc package installe rit shows:

NRB1DLC000000002
NRB1DLC000000003
NRB1DLC000000006
NRB1DLC000000007
NRB1DLC000000008
NRB1DLC000000009
NRB1DLC000000010
NRB1DLC000000011
NRB1DLC000000012
NRB1DLC000000013
NRB1DLC000000014
NRB1DLC000000015

So while 13,14 and 15 is new (and part of the base game installer) 1,4 and 5 is now missing.

Edit 2: I tried to copy the missing folders back into the game and the DLCs are still working but the description at the beginning is now missing ("DLC,,activated" instead of "Additional content package .... activated") , Could it be that the removal was intentional?

You are aware they're different games, yes?

Steam sells both VII and VIIR.
GOG sells only VIIR.

Although VIIR is a remake of VII, they've always been marketed as different games. Many people prefer VII, but you'll also find people who think VIIR is the better game (better graphics, more cutscenes, cutting out the super annoying random battles, etc).
Holy crap those added DLCs for the original HDN trilogy overpriced? Also by bundling the three 'DLC pack 2" sets together via the sale it actually results in a lower discount (29% vs 30%) than buying separately.

I certainly don't think the three DLC Pack 2's combined are worth $50 AU.
