If anyone from Kagura is reading this, please include Japanese text in your games on GOG. Thanks.
to anyone purchasing this make sure your C++ runtime libraries are all downloaded and installed ( i installed everthing 2005 and up from microsofts site) , not sure what runtime is needed but i couldnt launch the game before hand, just a heads up to avoid frustration as the plug in isnt included in the installer

For your and anyone else reading...

メカ技師リスタの大冒険 is the original title of the game. It's one of the precious few Kagura Games titles i actually have (well, prior to their translation).

Included in the original version is a readme file that links to a site with an article regarding this. However, i'm not permitted to post that link, because it's from a rival storefront. Long story short, you want Visual Studio 2013 Runtime libraries. It also must be the 32bit version, not the 64bit version. You can have both, but you must at least have the 32bit libraries.

The readme also states that the config options are avialable via the f1 key.

Thanks, but I did not mean the title - although that would be nice as well - but the in game dialog.
Finally the new games have Japanese voice acting, would be nice to read what they are saying optionally in Japanese, not in English.

I think what Kohlrak is saying is, that you can pick it up on that other store, fully Japanese.
Don't see why it is so hard for Kagura to leave the original Text (and sometimes Voice) in either though.
Although, DLSite is weird like this with their Translations sometimes too.

What do you mean by "weird"?

I have quite a few. There's other genres as well, but kagura games focuses on things with the RPG maker engine. I think this might be "pixel game maker" which i think is an offshoot of the engine. Unfortunately, we can't talk about this in public, or risk a ban. Reaper's already taking a big chance mentioning the name of the other storefront.

Weird in the sense that if you buy an englisch Translation, they also do remove the original Japanese text.

That's not weird if it's using the same engine that Kagura games targets: RPG maker isn't exactly built for releasing games with support for multiple languages. All they do, as far as i can tell, is simply modify existing game files with a custom editor or something. To go an add buttons and menus to the games to switch languages in game is not all that easy, nor is there really much incentive to do it. We're talking about a niche market of an already niche market of a niche market. The easiest way to handle it is to put both in the system in separate folders doubling the assets.

Ah i see, RPGMaker has no native Multi Language support, that explains it.
I didn't actually know that, so the problem lies with the engine then.

It might, but i've noticed the grand majority of games where you purchase different languages separate are RPGMaker or using one of the related products. Similarly, none with multilingual support are using those engines.

If you don't mind going dirty with it, you could also have a "configurator" that runs outside of the game and moves the relevant files to the right folder, but now you're asking a bit much for a company that just does translations and censorship.
