Some people will make incorrect assumptions about this game from this association.
I love this series of games especially 3
The PCGaming Wiki release dates for this series are wild:
Magical Drop III (1999) 1999
Magical Drop V 2012
Magical Drop II 2018
Magical Drop III 2018
Magical Drop DX 2021
Magical Drop VI 2023
The third game hits PC first, then nothing for 13 years. There also doesn't appear to be a fourth game in the series, at least not on PC.. Also not counting the re-release of the third game in 2018, every single game was released out of order (3, 5, 2, 1, 6.)

Still, it's nice to have the most recent release on GOG. So thanks to the GOG team (and the developer/publisher) for that.
Just how's multiplayer part of this game handled? Or, to be more specific - does it required a woeful calamity of a client app, also known as a Galaxy to work?
I understand this is the 6th installment of the game, but as someone who never heard about this game series before why not put some gameplay in the video?

Or are they a bit ashamed that it's a Bubble Bobble clone with a bit of a twist? Don't be, your game is already look better than that Meatboy puzzle game spinoff.

Also the character design make me think that the game is going to be a SHMUP, but then I read the description. Why not make a SHMUP spinoff based on these characters?

Gotcha.....Of course I hope people will actually look at the details before judgement/buying...at first glance, Hunipop was the first thing that popped in my mind...hahha

the only similarity this game has with HuniPop, is that they both are digital games
Gameplay is the same as the classics, but I feel the production value leaves a lot to be desired. Everything just looks a bit too static.

Yes, hence the "ish"
Hmm is the difficulty bugged or just very inconsistent?

I thought "how hard can it be" and got my ass kicked on level 1. Okay, surely I can beat it on normal.. nope! On to easy. Wow, I still got game over *thrice* on easy before I finally managed to beat it (three times, IIRC, which is after you move to the next one). It throws you back to title screen if you lose to a character, and you'll have to start all over again... quite brutal.

So I figured the next levels will kick my ass again.. well, none of them did. A couple were total pushovers, including a challenge that I beat in just a few seconds, but there were also some timed challenges that I only beat on the last second.

I know I'm not very good at this type of game but wtf?

EDIT: yep.. mostly a bunch of pushovers after the first one. But then sudden difficulty peak.. well, opponent starts dropping on you all of a sudden, which the previous ones hardly ever did. Completely threw off my pacing, which didn't feel good to start with. Even without trying hard, I can usually clear the screen without much trouble on easy. So I need to start spamming the drop button manually if I want to keep scoring (otherwise the opponent will outscore me). Well, don't spam it on a level where the opponent will suddenly drop multiple rows on you repeatedly.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like this game needs some work. And idk if I really care to play the story all the way from the beginning because of a sudden change in difficulty and behavior towards the end.

Also note to potential buyers, you can't rebind most of the keys. Movement and quick move keys are hardcoded (arrows and Z & C) while pull/throw/drop can be rebound. Not much point to rebinding these three if you can't rebind the others.

Well, I think the older games had a rank system, so the difficulty and CPU movement speed increased the more you won and decreased when you lost and continued.

Also the characters have different patterns for the pieces that appear, different special items, and attack shape patterns, so in older games in the series some characters (like the bosses) were flat out better/stronger than the others. I don't know how it would work out in 6 though.

In general, it's a series that you would have to move pretty quickly in since there's a big emphasis on reaction chains by queuing up more matches before the first one clears versus building up elaborate combo setups.
