Welcome back to the family.

Mafia is now available DRM-free and only on GOG.com.
The action/adventure classic that you really shouldn't refuse, finally returns. Embark on a celebrated open-world thriller and follow Tommy Angelo's rise (or fall, depending on your perspective) to a perilous life of high-stakes crime in 1930s America. The city of Lost Heaven is your playground, as long as you don't let the police catch you in the act, wise guy.

NOTE: This rerelease of Mafia has an edited soundtrack and does not include any licensed music.

Lone_Scout: Good to know, thanks!

Lukin86: Higher on the post, I have listed the languages available with screen as proof.
Yep. I guess that's what happens when you don't read other people's posts before writing... XD

GOG.com: NOTE: Mafia does not contain any licensed music - only the game's original soundtrack.
*hugs original CDs* Surely it's possible to mod the original music back in, though?
avatar
Lemon_Curry: I expect GOG to release complete, original and uncensored versions of games.
One of the very first games to be sold on GOG, Fallout, was the censored version. I don't think this particular goal is always going to be feasible.

Or take Dungeon Keeper for example, completely gutting the Windows .exe. Or Army Men 2 which has the Online and Skirmish mode gutted due to technical reasons.

sunnbather: Wow! Thank you so much for bringing that classic back to us!
Shame about soundtracks though. I hope someone will come up with a mod to put them back, at some point.
It wouldn't matter if they did make such a mod, because even if they did, then the mod would be taken off the internet. The game "Fallout: New Vegas" has a mod like that which added tons of music that was never in the original game but which would have been in the original game if the devs could have afforded it. The copyright troll cartel had that mod removed from the internet. So too would be the fate of any such Mafia mod.

Ok, IF you deliver I buy (along many others). I hope we can deal with this in a satisfactory way for both parties, or I'll have to send some italian friends of mine to pay you a visit... MWAHAHAHAHA
This release makes no sense when the music isn't included. It's not just some music playing - It's an important part of the game because the music is dynamic and changes according to the environments.
Any more 2K games incoming?
Please let Civ5 be just around the corner.

IMHO, Mafia is a lot better, is one of the best games ever made (at least it was when released)

PS. Just listening to the Django Reindhart music while playing hte game is glorious, if you know something about music.
PS2. Wait!! There's no licensed music in the game ?!?!?!?!? F*************************************ck!!!!!!!!!

The problem with music is a matter of rights.2k games will not get paid for a game that he is over 15 years old. Especially that the fee does not cost 10 dollars ^^.
výborně! vítej doma :)

too bad the original Czech dubbing is missing...

I would have thought those would be under the original soundtrack (and included) since dynamic music is normally commissioned for the game.

tfishell: I wouldn't expect a reply in this thread; you might want to message a bluetext or Support.
All potential customers should have a clear answer as to what music, specifically, exactly, is included and excluded within GOGs phrase "the game's original soundtrack." Nobody other than GOG and the publisher knows what that phrase means. Therefore, it requires public clarification by way of much greater specificity.
