DD & Ji Ji: Have you tried to log in into your steam account to check the store page ? :p
avatar
Sarafan: Good tip! ;) Something must've changed in Steam policy, because a few months ago I had no problems in entering these games pages without logging in.
I get the: not available in your region as usual.
And if I go VPN I would need to log in with an account I don't have to see it:P

Probably around the time they changed how you can region change, Steam went all Bonkers with the blocking of people using VPNs.
Why I deleted my 3 game account too lol.

Lone_Scout: How long will it take before the developers release an uncensor patch?

That'd be ok for me :P.
But they changed quite a lot, doubt that will fly.

whodares2: I honestly don't understand why if there are two versions of a game why both of them aren't available for consumer choice. After all you can select from three versions of Wasteland 3 with a drop down menu selection, why not for this? C'mon folks it's not that difficult to sort out. More choice = more satisfied customers.
Have you watched how bonkers people go if games go sex explicit and into the darker regions of it ?
Can't blame the dev I guess, still won't get my money for this though.

Why when clicking on this 15+ thing comes up a warning about 18+ content?

It is insulting enough GoG again only sells an incomplete version of a game, that it is again a new game instead of an old game, but this is simply #FalseAdvertising

What kinda morons support censorship and is buying this kinda garbage?
So in this version I get less for my money? I´m offered a game with the interesting parts cut out? Man, that´s gonna be a tough decision...

When I try to enter the product page without logging on Steam I get a message that "An error was encountered while processing your request: You must login to see this content.". Didn't notice the part with login at first and thought that the games were removed for some reasons. Anyway, not so long time ago I could view the product page without logging in. The only limitation was the age confirmation pop up.

If there was just an uncesored version you would not get it either. GOG would block customers from Germany and other countries. Since there is a mature and for all audiences version they could offer both. This would still only allow you to buy the censored version. Instead there is only the censored version so everyone gets the same and no one seems to want or much like this option.

Nope. As a german you COULD buy it here with a VPN or other tricks or get it gifted and so on. This is not Steam here. Luckily.

You guys are right, Lust for Darkness Steam page is definitely gone. Either that or it got locked in various regions. Can't access it via my library page for Lust for Darkness either.

NuffCatnip: Here's a link.
I know it's the discussion board, but that's all I can see. :P
That's a community page, you can always access these, even if the store page itself got locked.

Be it as it may, I disapprove of the M-version being the only version sold. Gog, get the AO version!
If the devs had a brain fart and decided to pull their AO content from all platforms, then that just ensures that I won't be buying it elsewhere either.

Lone_Scout: How long will it take before the developers release an uncensor patch?

Succubus developers decided to release a censored version of their game first. Later on they decided to work on an updated and uncensored version. With Lust from Beyond it's the same only in reverse. That's why I think there will never be a patch for this M version but there might be a chance for them to release the uncensored one here also.

Yes, they changed the policy in that regard. Now you can only see games with adult content from an account that allows it (and if you pass the age confirmation mini game).

Violence only games are still fine though without an account...I don't get the logic behind it, if it's to make it "safer" for children browsing.

That game was censored because STEAM enforced it upon them. They only got to release an uncensored version after STEAM changed their curation during that time period. Later on down the line, STEAM went back to their Orwellian state.

Agony was truly forced censorship, while this M version is wilfully censoring your own game to pander to the majority.
This is no different from backstabbing those backers who supported the Kickstarter and who paid for an adult game in the first place.

I know but that wasn't my point. Without resorting to use of VPN or other tricks you don't get access and can't buy the game as an individual living in a country because it's been blocked. While gifting is an option, someone still has to find a person willing to gift them a game. As a regular it might be easy, there are many kind people hanging out here, but as a newbie? Good luck!

I don't know whether it's a good idea to use VPN to gain access. The general tenor seemed to be that it's better not to use one when this was suggested because it could have negative consequences. Nobody knows for sure so an official statement would help.

This, no loss to Gog either if you buy from another EU Country.

Well there is no one to blame but our insane "Youth Protection" laws over here, doesn't change the fact that I'd never buy a censored version, even if I couldn't get anything else.

If VPNs for those tricks would be forbidden, it would stand in the rules of GOG and be enforced.

They do not want you to use VPNs for buying in the wrong "price zones" (russia...), or make fake accounts but otherwise... This is NOT Steam here. And no. I think even as a newbie you can get games gifted. Found out about that myself.

As of using VPNs... Change passwords before and after using it. Buy with money in the wallet. Problem solved.

EDIT: and HERE germany is NOT the problem. It is the PUBLISHER. NOT GOG. We know GOG wants to sell AO games and VNs. The problem here is the publisher and ONLY he is to blame and boycott.

Wow, so many comments complaining about censorship, when being censored is literally the POINT of this M edition.
I assume the rating of the original was A (Adult).
They didn't make a cheaply downgraded version by removing things etc, instead they put effort into adapting it to make it more accessible.
I understood this after reading the first paragraph of the store page.
